Responsive and Super Helpful

Great advice, adapting and balancing recommendations to frequent inputs from me. Pulls data from Garmin and Health app, and places helpful workout reca on my Garmin as well as calendar reminders. Well worth the (small) price for me!

Professional Virtual Trainer

I’ve only had this app for a few rides, but the feedback and suggested training plan is amazing! I’ve paid a lot of money in the past for cycling coaching and this app is just as good (or better).

Enjoy the workouts

With my health limitations this app dials in with some effective workouts to help strengthen my riding in spite of my limitations. It’s helping me feel more confident in finding a good rhythm with spinning and limited lung capacity.

Good app

I'm using it so well in Korea! It's the best app!

With this app I nail the perfect Coach

Love it 🙌

Rest or Train?

Pretty intuitive for an AI! I’m about to turn 69. Life long road racing and ultra distance Grand Fondo rider. In training for 3 consecutive mountain 100’s. It’s picking up the weakest links in my fitness and targeting them in every training! I both see and feel the odometer of life rolling back! Great investment 👍🏾🦶🏽🦵🏾🫁❤️‍🔥👁️🚴🏾🫡🏔️🧠☀️

Not consistent and not ready

I’ve been using for a number of weeks so far. I don’t find this to be any different than using Claude directly (I already have that subscription separately and have used it for training before trying this app). I found the ai interaction frustrating because it was inconsistent in its analysis of what my current ftp and max heart rate should be. It had me at a really low ftp using zone 2 rides as its data. Had a thing about not wanting me to do an actual ftp test that I disagreed with. Once I tore into a strong ride after building some base rides it changed its tune and adjusted ftp and max hr to my typical higher range. Then changed its analysis back to lower ftp after follow up rides. Spending too much time trying to get this part clear.

Bug

I had liked the app strava and also enabled the permission to update description on runs, but even after uninstalling the app it is updating the description in Strava. This is a major bug kindly fix this.

Response from developer

Hi, Sorry for the hassle. That's the Strava description sync - it keeps running server-side, so uninstalling the app doesn't stop it on its own. You can turn it off in the app under Settings → Data Sync → Strava. Sorry for the inconvenience.

works as real coach

Conversation with Restortrain actually replaces the human coach. We feels that we are interacting with real human coach

Neat idea, badly executed

I really like this idea, and overall it’s a reasonable use case for an AI coaching system. Unfortunately the brain behind the AI just isn’t there yet, it’s often so contradictory, inconsistent, flat out ignores instructions, or recklessly or dangerously makes recommendations that are genuinely counterproductive or even unsafe. If I have to spend as much time babysitting it as I would coming up with my own plan, it’s not worth it, and I will be canceling my subscription.

Response from developer

Hi, and I'm sorry - this isn't the experience we want you to have. Advice that's contradictory or inconsistent, and especially anything that comes across as unsafe, is exactly the kind of thing we take seriously and want to get right. I would love to understand where it broke down for you. Could you email me directly at michal@restortrain.com with some details or examples of where it went wrong? I'll look into it personally. Thanks for trying the app

Best App for Cyclists

As a RestOrTrain PRO user, I can highly recommend this app. As a cyclist, I had been looking for an app like this for a long time. What makes RestOrTrain special is how well it combines AI-driven insights with structured training plans. Instead of just giving generic recommendations, the app adapts to your training load and recovery status, helping you make smarter decisions every day. The recovery analysis is easy to understand, accurate, and genuinely useful for balancing training and rest. Whether you’re training for performance or simply trying to stay consistent, the app provides valuable guidance. Another huge plus is the support team. I asked about Wahoo integration, and after a short time the feature was actually added. Seeing user feedback taken seriously and turned into real improvements is something you don’t find very often. The app is intuitive, reliable, and constantly improving. If you’re a cyclist, runner, or endurance athlete looking for a smarter way to train and recover, I can absolutely recommend RestOrTrain. Five stars without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thank you! This means the world to us!

Happy so far. Proof yet to come

I’m using this app to train for a gravel event . I’m happy with the program and like it keeps me in check and not burning matches unnecessarily. The memory is sometimes a bit off and needs jogging. I appreciate its early days and it’s not too expensive so I’ll keep going for now ..4 stars

Response from developer

Thanks for the kind words! We're working on various ways of improving the memory and they will land in the app soon. Stay tuned!

Team of Olympic Coaches

This app really feels like I have a team of Olympic-level coaches at my fingertips.

Nutrition: deep-dive nutrition customized to my MTHFR variant, detailed customized fasting for autophagy, timed to perfection, inflammation mitigation, and so much more!

Running: taking my data from Apple, Garmin, and Strava (as well as so many other options), it is able to see exactly how my body is doing and make adjustments to my plan instantly. If I have a pain, we analyze that together and adjust to prevent longer or worse injuries from over training. Whether I want to increase VO2 max, reduce resting heart rate, build my body’s chassis to be capable of handling a run at all without injury, or to run a marathon, it perfectly coaches me in a perfectly personal way to achieve my goals.

The injury prevention that is so personalized is absolutely incredible! I don’t know any other app or system that can take my information, ask a hand full of questions, and adjust my existing workout plan to fit what my body is doing in that moment, instantly. It’s incredible! Exactly what a team of coaches does, only faster better and cheaper.

Same for biking or swimming. A triathlete’s dream!

ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ

I've been on this app for about two weeks, and it also sets up my training workouts, and when I ask them to evaluate my results after training, it gives me dense answers to a variety of workout questions. It's an app that helps me a lot as I don't have a personal coach.

Pro too soon

Looked interesting but a
Required to switch to paid pro version too soon to tell if it was worth it….

Good!

Only uploads a month of data

I've done everything it said I needed to do to upload more a month of data. I made an intervals.ocu account, linked Strava and Zwift all over the place, but it still can't upload rides more than a month back. So if I want to keep using this, I have to keep paying $13/month for the next few months until it has decent data and can finally start advising me?

I'm sticking to trainnerroad. It can basically do the same thing as this useless AI but also has workouts and save power history. What a waste of time and money this was

Response from developer

Sorry for the frustrating experience - this one's on us for not making it clearer. We can only provide 30 day historical sync from Strava because we are limited by their API, but there are other ways to get your full history in that we should have surfaced better: 1. Garmin historical sync - goes back up to 2 years (you need to trigger it in settings) 2. Intervals.icu historical sync goes back up to 2 years (you need to trigger it in settings) 3. Manual Strava export - download your data from Strava and upload it directly to the app Any of these will give the AI the context it needs. If you want to give it another shot, I'm happy to help at michal@restortrain.com
