Terrible app
This app is so confusing I bought a day pass and it was unclear how to use it. Even the bus driver didn’t know.
Awful
Glitches out and says network connectivity is needed to sign in even when I have full bars or am connected to wifi.
Please test with iPhone iOS. Credit card entry broken.
This app is terrible. I can’t enter my credit card details without getting “Unable …”.
Most apps are really well integrated with Apple Wallet. This app has manual data entry. The credit card verification also appears flawed given the number of cards it rejected.
Please please please improve your iOS code and integrate it with Apple Wallet or just use the Tap to Travel system most transit systems use.

Doesn’t work half the time
It’s always glitching and will leave you stranded. It says payment accepted and your money isn’t showing when they took it from your bank… or there’s money in your account and it says payment failed. It does down for days at a time.
Passes should be removed from app
I was visiting Providence and decided to purchase a day pass to ride the buses while I was there. My credit card was charged $6.00, but then the app showed a zero balance and was unusable!
I found out later that RIPTA no longer has passes; they expect users to just add stored value to the app, and after three fares in one day ($6.00), it stops charging you fares. If that's the case, then the app should not show passes for sale!
As things played out, I only took two rides, so I paid too much by using the app instead of cash. What a waste of money!

Would give 0 stars if I could
The app comes up with errors when I try to remove a card.
Additionally, when I try to use an already added card, there is only the option to create a virtual card, it won’t let me use a card I’ve added in the Manage tab. You can only create a card or link an existing card, which doesn’t work when you’ve already added it in the Manage tab.
This application is a user experience nightmare.
Just get a physical card and reload it at an in person location, don’t bother with the app.

What up RIPTA? How come I gotta give you five dollars minimum on this goofy application that only works when I remember to charge my phone when you just cost two dollars for a ride. Why do you want so much money??
Why don’t you take credit card like they do in Massachusetts? It seems crazy that I gotta come up with the only kind of exact change money (no Pennies!) are you just going to help yourself to all the rest if the only thing I have is a $10 bill. This is crazy.

USELESS I Cant even add any money
This app is USELESS it wont even let you load money onto it its not even working ive tried like 10 times i dont have cash how am i supposed to take the bus now
Does not work. Waste of money
Paid for a monthly pass only for it to not work. What a waste of time and money.
Eats Money, Doesn’t Work
Just pay cash. App is buggy, accepts payment but then doesn’t work on the bus.
Glitches
The app is usually functional but it will randomly log you out with little hope of getting back in. You gotta hope the drivers are nice enough to let you on or else you’re out of luck for traveling. Also will randomly eat your fare even when you’re supposed to have transfer time. It sometimes doesn’t register a day pass, which means you sometimes have to pay more than the day fee because the app doesn’t actually count the fare correctly.

Does this work?
Is this app still active? Trying to sign up and create a virtual card but it stalls out and finally says “you cannot have more than one card linked to this account” … I have no card - that’s what I’m trying to do!

Took My Money - No Ticket
When attempting to add my debit card as a payment method, the app charged my card $1 but "failed to verify" my card information. Tried a second time, same result. I'm $2 down and unable to buy tickets because the app, which has successfully charged my card, has failed to verify that the card it *just charged* exists.

Whoever made this app probably had autism and forgot how apps work
Unnecessary AND bad
This app is required to pay any fares that aren’t in cash. Ok - fine….but there is already an app called transit that most metro transit systems use, heck, even this app references transit. Just let me pay through that instead of having to have yet another app to only pay for your system. Now - the paying part is the worst. Rides cost 2 bucks…can I add 2 dollars to this card? Heck no…5 is the minimum. What if I only take 1 ride? There is an “Other” button for adding value, but you can’t add less than $5. Even if I do a round trip as a visitor, you are stealing a dollar from me. Please, if you are going to allow “Other” as a value - let that value be the amount of a fare.

Minimum $5 charge is unfriendly to tourists
Bus fare is $2, even a round trip is only $4. Having to register for an account and then $5 minimums is super unfriendly to people from out of town.

They need to put a Porto potty near the bus stop you have wet pants
The current Update is having issues with logging in and creating accounts… plus more.
The app will crash anytime you try to sign in. I had an issue as well where I added funds to my card, and they created a completely different virtual card that the funds got added to.. an unusable card. Extremely frustrating, and I’ve been waiting since February 21, 2025 for an update. I currently can’t use the buses since I do not have cash, and this app is broken.
