Doesn’t work
Been given this by a hotel to open the door. It doesn’t work.

In theory you always have your phone with you, in real life that’s not quite how it works. Key fobs are still more convenient for frequent use.

Never works
First off, having to pull my phone out and navigate to a widget or app just to get into my apartment is very frustrating. It limits what I’m able to carry inside and I often have to make multiple trips because I have one hand tied up using my phone. The app rarely works and I end up just sitting outside for 30 seconds for no reason only for the app to not connect to the door reader. It works sometimes but is very unreliable therefore I just use the keypad and manually type my door code in…but the keypad is glitchy and finicky also. Lastly the app tracks my every move within the apartment community. Not a fan of Salto.

Widget is useless and doesn’t work
Overall it regularly times out and the widget on the Home Screen is completely useless. Pretty subpar NFC technology.

Remote opening
Last update completely removed the ability to remote open locks.
Awful
Unreliable. Requires unnatural amount of resigning in. Do not use in any area with low data (due to unnatural amount of resigning in). Awful app.

Slow, unreliable
Locking doors is a solved problem or not? Why does it take 4 attempts and 30 seconds to open a door?

Had this garbage at my co-working space and it never worked properly. NEVER. They just removed it and installed something else.

Updated: they’ve partially fixed the Apple Pay issue - now, the Digital Key works perfectly if you open the app and the Digital Key each time.
But if you have the Digital Key open, turn the screen turns off and on again, and then hold the phone or watch up to the reader, Apple Pay will take over.

Not working
iPhone 15 Pro. ios 17.6.1. Can not tap to activate key, button does not respond.
50% of the time, works every time
Please fix the bug where, when you activate the Digital Key and hold it up to the reader, Apple Pay detects the reader and takes over. Some days I feel like I have to try 5 times to get it to read.

such a mess
Hard to use this as a „Key“, as there are always 20-30 Seconds to open a door. You better never be in a hurry. It is absolutely annoying that the payment cards appear while using the widget to open a door.
The texts that explain how to use the app are cut at least in German language so you cannot even read how to use the app properly.
The linked webpage for help/ support is 404 not found. Cool cool cool.
Why is there is list with events that show all opened door? How does that match with EU-Privacy?

Positivement surpris
Après les avis négatifs, je m’attendais au pire. Mais j’ouvre maintenant ma porte de bureau avec mon Apple Watch et je suis content.
No sign out?
Signed in with the wrong email - “you don’t have access to this application”. Now can’t sign out to sign in with the correct one, even after uninstalling and reinstalling.
