Extremely Bad & Disappointing Experience with SBI General Health Insurance
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with SBI General Health Insurance.
My mother was hospitalized for 3 days at Medicover Hospital, Kakinada. We had health insurance with a cashless facility, but the cashless claim was not processed. We were asked to pay the hospital bills ourselves and submit a reimbursement claim.
We did exactly that. After more than a month of waiting and follow-ups, we were informed that the claim cannot be processed because, according to the insurance company, the treatment provided by the hospital was not appropriate.
This raises a very serious question: If there was an issue with the treatment, why should the policyholder suffer?
The insurance company is blaming the hospital, while the hospital and the policyholder are left to deal with the consequences. As a customer, I don’t know who is right or wrong — but I am the one who is losing money, time and peace of mind.
I have already paid around ₹25,000 in insurance premiums and approximately ₹50,000 towards hospitalization expenses. That’s nearly ₹80,000 of my hard-earned money involved in this situation.
Then what is the purpose of having health insurance?
We pay premiums expecting support during difficult times. But when the actual need arises, being made to run around for more than a month and then simply being told “claim not possible” is an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience.
SBI General Insurance — is this what customers can expect when they genuinely need their health insurance?
I request SBI General Insurance to seriously review this case and provide a clear, transparent explanation with the medical and policy basis for rejecting the claim.
I am sharing my experience publicly so that other customers can understand the importance of carefully evaluating the actual claim-support experience before choosing a health insurance provider.

Easy to use customer friendly app
Being a customer of one of the policies of SBIG, the app is extremely useful and convenient to use. User interface is smooth and easier to navigate.
Useless app
Useless app you will not be able to get a quote for your car insurance just because the app doesn’t allow you write any alphabet after the state name in the first box and also even if you buy the insurance from the customer service then also you wont be able to download it in the app even through the scan to download option.

Poor customer treatment.
Just bunch of frauds .. never buy any insurance from them. It has been more than months and nobody helping with my concerns. They just ask you to write mails to concerned team who never solves your issue. My money is stuck .. please don’t buy any insurance from sbi.
Seamless & prompt insurance of India
I had my car stuck due to some issues in gear box. With just a call & this app, within a week I was able to get my car fixed & received nearly 70-75% of total expenses. Thanks SBI general for the quick response.
Worst experience
They are good in follow up getting premium amounts. I am going through a worst phase, that Call support will schedule a call back with surveyor forever untill this world ends for a call which won’t even happen neither he won’t attend the calls directly.
