Too many spam notifications
Wow these guys will spam you with every irrelevant marketing / investment notification possible. There’s no way to filter out alerts directly relevant to your account or the other junk they bombard you with. I’m glad they’re only my back up account bc this is pretty annoying. I wouldn’t move any substantial money into this bank as a result of this nuisance.

The worst app ever
I can’t understand SC could make such a horrible app, making clients almost impossible to use its banking and investment service! Shame on you! Hire some great engineers and PM to fit it!
Fake IPad Compatibility
SC Pay doesn’t work on iPad
Two issues
One: whenever I receive a notification to approve a connection, I have to re identify and the notification gets lost.

Quite possibly the worst app and bank I’ve had to deal with. Such a long queue to have general enquiries dealt with at the branch and even after my card still does not work. Unable to register for both this app and on desktop, only to be told I have to go back the branch to get this sorted.
Honestly anyone considering this bank please just go bank elsewhere other than here. Rubbish

Forced push notification
Force you to turn on push notifications and other tons of permissions before even start using it.
Very poor design
Services you claim available on the app are missing eg resetting pin.
Certain actions will take you to pages with no return option to the main page. The only way to exit is to close the app without signing out which is a huge security risk. How can you allow this app to be published without checking for all the mistakes?

Worst banking app
Of all the banking apps that I have from US and Hong Kong this by far is the worst. How is it that you cannot remember my login name? Why can’t I use my device devices store passwords? Did the product managers think that this is the only app I use in my life? It’s 2025 and ridiculous that the password does not accept special characters. Am I really suppose to use a special inferior password just for this one app??

Whenever using the live chat with live agent, the app is closed automatically. It wasn’t like that before. Please fix this bug asap.

OTP for Mobile Key
Setting up the app on a new phone with non-HK number and waiting for a SMS OTP for hours. By this time, obviously the login flow has timed out making it impossible to login. Called the bank and they said there’s nothing they can do and I can conveniently check my account via web login.
Hope to incorporate equity trading features
I do hope that SC Mobile could incorporate equity trading features that currently offered via SC Equities. Many leading banks in HK such as HSBC have already done so to provide a uniform customer experience.
