Brilliant!

So easy to use

Journey check doesn’t work

Try to do a journey check. Asks me to move the slider to the right then when I do it throws an error.

RIP

This is is powered by Trainline but with slightly less functionality eg Apple Wallet but it saves the TL booking fee. This would be handy when you need your ticket out of signal.

Annoying that expired flexipasses don’t disappear and that it sometimes remembers railcards you don’t want to use.

Overall a pretty good app with high reviews but which is now being discontinued.

Completely satisfied

Today as usual I was able to purchase my ticket without issue any issues. Makes my trip much easier.

Booking experience

Seamless booking experience always

No Apple Watch

Not enough information on the app after booking to tickets. It will be going to be able to choose seats, and no complications for Apple Watch!

Easier than the website

Iphone app works well

Love ScotRail!

User-friendly, no booking fees tagged on, owned by the Scottish Government and I say Hurrah for that! Well done, Scotrail!

Best for disabled travel

We’ve used most rail operators and have consistently found Scotrail to be the best for passenger assistance, they’ve never failed to have staff ready to help on every journey we’ve taken.

Scotlrail App

Excellent App. Easy to use. Always works seamlessly

Works well

Fast to use: stores previous journeys for quick use. Payment works well.

Easy to use

Easy to use, saves waiting in queue to buy one or these ticket machines that take ages. Saves a lot of time. Would recommend.

Why no Apple Wallet?

App works great, but why, in 2026, no function to add to Apple/Google wallet & access from lock screen?
Total faff having to open phone & open app to correct page, especially when hands full with luggage etc!

Terrible

Tickets expire and are no longer accessible during the journey. So when departing the train and trying to leave the gate this creates issues. Staff at train station are extremely rude and unhelpful. Honestly cant believe how poor a system this is

Incredibly difficult to use for the basics of train times and tickets

Been fighting with this app for two years and I can’t figure out who it’s designed for. Certainly not Central Belt commuters. The app has two main use-cases: finding train times and using for e-tickets. Both are a struggle. Train times, ok, you can search for a journey from A to B. The times fall apart if your journey has multiple possible start/end stations eg. Two nearby stations in the centre of town, but you can at least use “recent searches” as a workaround. Then you buy your tickets and the fun really starts. If you want a return you have to specify return date and time (even for an “anytime” ticket), and the default is often “not selected” or “yesterday” which leads to errors and more clicks than should be necessary (a recurring feature of this poorly designed app). And then you buy your tickets. If you can. The app will often only let you buy for a journey well in advance, so no turning up at the station and buying a ticket for the train arriving in a couple of minutes. Then you flick between ticket and checking times, using lots of back clicks, instead of the “search” and “tickets” tabs. But wait, there’s more! It’s even possible, if you’re not extremely careful buying your ticket, to end up selecting “collect at station” instead of “in-app” ticket, even if your journey is from a station with no ticket collection facilities! Of course, there are alternatives to this app, if you’re lucky enough to be boarding at a staffed station, or one with a ticket machine. Use those if possible, because this hopeless app is a long way from being a functional alternative “ticket machine in your pocket”.

Really miss the refund function :(

Used to be such a great app but the refund function has somehow disappeared recently; it says I need to phone support to discuss refunds which is such an unnecessary step when I previously could have just requested via the app. Hope this gets fixed soon :(

Brilliant!

Great app and always updated with platforms, any disruptions etc - Go Scotrail!
