Payment support is nil
The new app is horrible. It does not allow you to save a credit card, so you have to enter the details every time you want to buy a ticket. It does advertise that it accepts ApplePay, but don’t believe it. I have yet to be able to get it to work (ApplePay works just fine with every other app on my phone). Especially when you consider the new minimum fare policy, save yourself the headache and buy your ticket at the station.

Unusable with no functionality after new update
What on earth happened? And how is this a better app than the previous one? You can’t search earlier or later trains but just scrolling and the available ticket options are terrible. I can’t check my live journey progress either. I’ll stick to using another booking service until this is sorted, even if it means ai have to pay more.

Terrible after August update
Until the August update I was entirely happy with the App and used it several times a week.
Now I’ve stopped using it.
It presents single tickets when a return is selected. It ignores an already selected railcard.
Navigation is poor.
It has taken money from me for tickets but not delivered a ticket.
The customer support line don’t reply.
A return trip to Dundee costs circa £32 on this App and £22 on a competitor App.
And so on.

Disaster update
The updated app is almost unusable. Clearly no usability testing. Even the ticket officers on the train can’t use it.
Usability - making it easy and obvious for people to use - is basic for a train ticket app. It also fails to deliver consistent results when I search for tickets! Price changes each search. Whatever costs were saved by cutting user testing will be lost via lost ticket revenue.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE NEW ONE
I genuinely never had any issues with this app version, whereas the new app won’t even show you your return ticket… seems like an unnecessary change that inconveniences and annoys more than improves the ScotRail experience. #BringItBack

The old app was fine. This is a poor replacement with less functionality and far from user friendly. Why can’t I save the ****** thing in my apps. It’s such a hassle to use. Back to LNER and Trainline.

Try to do a journey check. Asks me to move the slider to the right then when I do it throws an error.

I had some trouble getting the app up and running, after that it’s been smooth sailing ever since.
RIP
This is is powered by Trainline but with slightly less functionality eg Apple Wallet but it saves the TL booking fee. This would be handy when you need your ticket out of signal.
Annoying that expired flexipasses don’t disappear and that it sometimes remembers railcards you don’t want to use.
Overall a pretty good app with high reviews but which is now being discontinued.

Today as usual I was able to purchase my ticket without issue any issues. Makes my trip much easier.

No Apple Watch
Not enough information on the app after booking to tickets. It will be going to be able to choose seats, and no complications for Apple Watch!

Best for disabled travel
We’ve used most rail operators and have consistently found Scotrail to be the best for passenger assistance, they’ve never failed to have staff ready to help on every journey we’ve taken.
