Great chargers, horrible app
It’s hard to describe how frustrating it is to pull into a charging station I’ve used many times before, only to find that Shell has logged me out of my account and I can’t get back into it. So I change my password as suggested, and it tells me it’s locking my account because I’ve tried too many times to access the account.
I’m happy to pay for this formerly free service but the app won’t even let me do that! When trying to charge my car on the road I don’t have time to be messing with customer support.
Yet another example of app developers being completely divorced from reality sometime.

App Errors
Cannot select locations on the map; getting error message “We are unable to process your request please try again”
App errors
The app constantly runs errors that makes the vehicle to stop charging. Not being able to charge for 30 minutes is waste of time.
Stopped working after 1 day
Now it won’t show any chargers anywhere. “No stations found in this area”. I have to pull up the google app instead but that doesn’t show as much details.
It asks you to purchase wallet credit to use a free station

I created a login months ago and the last step isnconfirm email. Except no email came. Days later nothing so I forgot about it. When I wanted to use the app again it asked to once again confirm email. It had a button for sending a new email. Click on email. Link expired. Repeated
Multiple times on multiple days.
I can only imagine how bad the app is once I login.
I hope a bunch of idiots are being fired for this.

Awful
Only charged here as an absolute last resort. App is terrible and makes you load $10 at a time onto it to use the stations. Don’t bother unless you’re otherwise stranded like me.
Never works
I absolutely hate seeing shell recharge anywhere. The stations never work and they’re a complete waste of space. When you report an issue, support doesn’t reply for 1-2 business days, at which point the response doesn’t even matter anymore.
Hold money
They hold my money and still haven't refunded it. I called three times and they still haven't refunded it.
Fixes needed
If the goal is to push all users to the Shell Recharge app for EV charging, it has some room to go before prime time.
The map does not update automatically and I have gone to multiple locations that show available only to find the chargers occupied.
Second, the prepaid balance doesn’t properly adjust to show the current balance after a charging session.
Third, the Active Charging Session screen does not update throughout the session. It shows no reading but if I back out to the list view, it will show me a $ amount for the current session. I have had issues with the regular Shell app too. I have tried the troubleshooting and have pulled down to refresh and it never updates. Sessions always finish and are successful but no status from Shell along the way.
Finally, if you want users to feel comfortable downloading an app from the App Store on iOS, for goodness sake make sure it says that it is the legit app from Shell and not developed by another business (who is Zeco Systems and what is the relationship? I shouldn’t have to do that)! I didn’t download it until I called Shell support and they told me that was the official app. Buy the naming rights to list your company, please like the other Shell Information Technology.

Super buggy
Every time I charge here it is super buggy. I have to call customer support almost every single time. They need to update their app and their whole charging network. It is just the worst charging network I’ve ever used.

The way most people think…
The “charging station” is the address or business.
The charger is not the station.
Solution…
Rename “station ID” to “charger ID.”
Under “charger ID” label the two plugs as “plugs.”

Locked out of account
After resetting the password, the app did not take the new password and rejected my log in and the security feature is to lock you out of our account for 30 minutes. The charger had no additional ways to activate the charging and I could not charge my car at this time. The app cannot lock people out of their account (especially when there is not an option to save the password in the app) for forgetting their password as it limits the ability to use critical infrastructure.

Emergency-Ran Out
I really can’t complain too much because I ran out of power 2am and was pretty much stuck miles from home. I got a tow from AAA to this shell recharge station. Man…..talk about slow . I waited 4 1/2 hrs to 36% charge. So this station saved me. So again I can’t complain too much about it being very very slow😯😯. It was an actually working station. So I am very grateful but it was sloooow…😀.

App doesn’t work on a Mac
Shows an error “This app is not compatible with jailbroken mobile devices. Please use a device that is not jailbroken to proceed.”
Hit and miss
The app doesn’t work all the time. It’s weird considering people can be traveling and become stranded like I did with my family.
Chargers don’t show up
I put money into the app, it was working fine before but now the chargers don’t show up on the map. When I input the number for the station it still says unable to process.

The app doesn’t let you activate chargers. That’s its entire purpose and it fails to do so.
