App not working!
Wish it would. I spent $7k on a new inverter.
App is terrible
Haven’t been able to get it to work for months. All it shows is my instant energy production no past history no data at all. The app for my car charger gives more detail about what my solar panels are producing than this worthless app does.
I love this app
I really love this app. I am rather a technophobe, and would have chosen a numerical readout of production on the inverter itself over "another app". However-- I quickly grew to absolutely love the app. It is so interesting to be able to see how much energy is being used at any given time. I have had moments in the evening when my panels were almost-- but not quite-- powering the house, and I went through turning off unused lights and got back to net generation! It is informative and beyond that-- fun! Very reinforcing.
It is also really great to be able to see the history. Here in hot and humid New Orleans, my panels produce a surplus in the winter that builds up credit (we have net metering) that can then be used in the summer to power air conditioning. The app allows me to see exactly how much of a surplus I have generated so I can predict whether the extra use will be covered by the winter credits.

Server issues and SMA lacking support
We installed a PV solar system in 2011 and invested in extra equipment for monitoring, including the SMA weather station, the SMA Webbox, and more. Ever since, SMA keeps discontinuing systems and retiring services. The full system monitoring we paid for about 15 years is pretty much useless now while it’s supposed to have a 30 year lifetime.
When you purchase a new PV system, think twice before investing in something that barely lasts 15 years. Sunny Webbox and the SMA monitoring is pretty much useless after 15 years at a time when it really matters.

Provides awesome real time information
Been a user for 8 years and this app is very reliable to say the least. Provides great system functionality!
App broken
App hasn’t worked for a while. Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t fix it. Just broken and the developers don’t seem to care or make much of an effort to fix
Doesn’t work (communication error)
Doesn’t work. More than a month. Unable to notify of problem. Don’t know what our solar system is doing, if it’s working, etc. Regretting going with this company. Poor communication, poor app, doesn’t notify you when on battery backup.
No data
It seems that the last update broke the connection for my system and I no longer get any data whatsoever.
Features removed
What happened to the total energy produced in the History screens? Lime by day, week, month, year or system total?

Not working
Used this app for years & only need it for a few more days. No data is showing at all. Logged in to the website and nothing shows for last 3 years.
Update: We’ve added 10 more panels & 2 Tesla batteries now. App was working for installer but not me. Thanks to SMA for getting in touch to solve my issue. We’re not using SMA anymore.

Never works
The app doesn’t show current usage - ever - if I’m lucky I can track my power usage once a month. So I have to guess the power available
Still not working after multiple engagements with to help desk. The AI needs to be improved as all it does is forward you to useless YouTube videos

Not quite adequate
The only thing reliable about this app is the inevitable pop-up message telling you there is yet another maintenance on the books. Everything else is subject to surprisingly frequent dropouts, and overall just not at a sufficiently user-friendly level of surfacing information, at least for a private off- grid farm situation. Seems over-engineered to the point of worsening outcomes.

Ongoing Server Communication Error
Currently cannot access any data on the app regarding my system. Constantly receiving ‘Communication Error’ ‘It is currently not possible to access the servers - please try again later’ This is very frustrating. Fortunately, I am able to get the live data from the website but still - not user friendly!

Environment stats nowhere near accurate
The issue with the app and more generally SMA software in general is that it has gone backwards to some extent in that it no longer caters for generator feed-in, hence CO2 stats are completely wrong when generator supplements solar / grid-tied feed in. If I in my generator the app treats it as solar, while this could be attributed to configuration this is incorrect as no generator option in config!

Connectivity Problems
We have a constant problem with no information regarding the state of charge of the battery bank. A reset of the system results in only a temporary restoration of that reading.
Improving..but
Improving…but need to improve faster including giving owners ability to get notifications when grid outage occurs, owners to easily re-establish connection to home’s WiFi, and to buy upgrades-accessories. Also let us get an annual ‘health check’…
