I really think EMA Manager needs a better ECU update status system.
Right now, during firmware updates there is almost no feedback about what is happening. It would help a lot if the app showed:
whether the ECU is currently updating,
current progress percentage,
estimated remaining time,
last successful communication with the ECU,
and clear information if the process is frozen or still running.
I work with EMA Manager almost every day, and many ECUs appear to freeze for several hours during updates. Without any status information, it is impossible to know if the update is still active or if something failed.
Even a simple progress bar or “still updating, please wait” message with a timer would make the process much less stressful and reduce the risk of interrupting an update unnecessarily.
Please consider improving this in future versions.

Called in for various questions I had. A rep named Jared answered my call. I got to say that Jared was a wonderful help, I appreciated his genuine concern with my situation and his eagerness to help out a customer. Thank you Jared for being awesome! Also, AP Systems, give Jared a raise! There’s few employees like this who actually care about their customers. He should be compensated as such!

Horrible App
Never fails to have something not work correctly in this app. It’s kinda embarrassing when I’m in front of a customer and trying to give them confidence in the product they spent a very large sum of money on, only for not even the app to work properly. Don’t even get me started on the amount of micro inverters we replace monthly across all our customers.

Sloppy app, inaccurate stats, lots of missing data. Unwilling to do even small things like add a dark mode icon or iPad support.
Keine Verbindung zur ECU
Eine Verbindung zur ECU über den Hotspot aufzubauen ist ein Glücksspiel. Der Hotspot wird angezeigt, laut Smartphone besteht auch eine Verbindung zur ECU. Geht man dann in der EMA Manager App auf Local Access tut sich absolut nichts. Nur die Ladeanzeige und danach die Meldung, dass die Verbindung fehlgeschlagen sei.
Dieses Problem tritt nun auf, nachdem von einer ECU-B auf eine ECU-R gewechselt wurde. Bei der ECU-B wurde nach einem Jahr Nutzungsdauer plötzlich keine WLAN Verbindung mehr aufgebaut; einen Hotspot gab es auch nicht mehr.
Nachdem also die Hardware versagt hatte und gestaucht wurde, versagt nun offenbar die Software. Absolut nicht brauchbar.
Wenn es weiterhin nicht funktioniert, werde ich wohl das System inkl. Wechselrichter komplett gegen ein anderes tauschen.
