Ticket purchase

Easy system to use and makes planning travel simpler

Buggier than it used to be

Used to be great but I’m switching back to Trainline or national rail. It won’t show trains after the time they’ve departed. Not convenient for a regular traveller on South Eastern trains as you can’t check on journey progress when on a train, which is helpful to do, as they are so often delayed or cancelled. Also still not possible to buy a high speed upgrade on the app, why!?

Mr Robert Foster

The staff are very helpful, especially Jane at the Deal station. I am visually impaired and it helps to have passenger assist

Booking assistance

Need to be able to book assistance for a single passenger even when booking multiple tickets. At the moment I have to purchase my ticket separately from the rest of the family just so I can book assistance for me!

Nearly as unreliable as their trains

So many glitches

Great But There’s Bugs

This app works great, however there are bugs in the current version (5.0.22).

The favourite train times you have pinned to the Home Screen do not always automatically update when you open the app. That has been an issue for a long time though.

You can only have three regular journeys pinned to the Home Screen. I’m not sure why it’s limited to three.

Also, previous versions used to tell you about planned line closures ahead of the travel days. However, this current version doesn’t tell you until on the day, which isn’t very helpful if you are trying to plan ahead.

Other than that it’s good.

Too few trains

Only one train every hour from Woolwich Arsenal to Chatham! And very often delayed

Very good except

Tends to force you to get a travel card on your keycard rather than e-ticket (and rather than a simple return). Otherwise fab

Cannot use valid railcard

Will not allow you to buy tickets with railcard prices unless you have bought your railcard in the app. In other words, there is no way to transfer a railcard purchases elsewhere—e.g., through National Rail or in person—to your account. And you cannot select railcard prices unless you have a railcard loaded into your account. In effect, this makes the app useless for me.

Advance booking Wad to Grantham

We do not like or enjoy the underground connection on the Northern line from Lbg to Kings Cross when there is a Thameslink train from Lbg to StP / Kings Cross which is much easier. I also understand that we have to have paper tickets and not an e ticket due to the underground not accepting e tickets. This needs looking at and changing please!

Paper tickets

No option to have digital tickets on your phone when buying a trip to London with a travelcard. Please sort that out. Otherwise a pretty handy app.

Railcard bug

Selecting network railcard is not working and thus impossible to get the price associated. Reported wells ago and known issue but still not fixed. Keep deleting and reinstalling the app.

Senior rail card

The senior railcard option in the app doesn’t work. It used to up until latest update but no longer. All the other rail card options can be selected but not senior! I had to purchase my ticket at the station today and reported the issue to the man in the ticket office who said that others had complained of the same thing. Please fix it.

Could be better - delay repay is rubbish

The app is ok. Does what it needs to on the most part. Apart from Delay Repay which absolutely does not work - can see my ticket but cannot select it to put through a claim (convenient for SE some might say). The one click delay repay should be great but is very hit and miss. I would probably be less bothered if I didn’t so frequently need to use delay repay…

Slow

Expired tickets showing as active

The worst app I have ever used

Coded by stevie wonder

Ignoring railcards

The app no longer recognises railcards so you can’t use it! Have to use Trainline!!!! Sort it out please.

App showing incorrect pricing

A recent update seems to have altered so no longer applying railcard discounts, this means having to go to the website to buy them

Network railcard stopped working

The app is normally great, but recently my network railcard has stopped working.
You can see it is there before running the search, but all the results ignore the card and are full price. If I click the railcard section before the search, there is no ‘1’ against the network railcard, so I can’t remove it or try adding again. I now need to buy my ticket with a different app. Devs, please fix! Was all fine previously.
