‘Via/Avoid’ causes search to glitch

App works smoothly still but since last update there’s a bug where if you add a ‘via/avoid’ option to your search, it comes up as no trains found. As soon as you remove the addition, it searches as normal. Had a heart attack when I thought all the trains had been cancelled 😅.

Other than that, all good, Apple Pay is best addition to the app by far. Thank you!

Awful

Doesn’t let me buy a simple season ticket and upload onto the Key Smartcard. Customer service was a joke.

Excellent

Much more efficient than Trainline thank you

Taffinator

The service is really easy to use and any problems are easily resolved

Does not do reservations

May be all right for commuting although it’s fairly clunky but do not use to book long journeys as Southern cannot deal with doing reservations on any other train company. Really not good when you are old. Another aspect of broken Britain. Things broken into pieces that do not communicate adding cost complexity and confusion for pretty much everyone.

Fundamentally broken

App on par with the train company that run the line. Cheaply engineered and poorly delivered AVOID.

Railcards

Great interface. Easy to use.
The option to add railcard should be on final page though, before payment is taken, to avoid going back to the front page

Ok… but

Much better than it used to be now tickets are on the app rather than emailed to you.
However it has one flaw.
Surely Return tickets should be the default setting.
I would have thought this is what most people require.
Returns and singles are so close in price it wouldn’t be a big deal if you mistakenly buy a return.
However if you buy a single instead of a return it’s an expensive mistake.
Twice now I have mistakenly purchased a single instead of a return.
You have to pay £5 stupidity Tax to cancel the tickets.
This is a rather steep charge for an automated process.
Please make return the default and users beware.

Rubbish

Not possible submit a claim through this app, always getting an error

E tickets

Why are e tickets not an option on southern rail app?

E-ticket

It’s really easy to use the app to buy tickets but why can’t I get an e-ticket any more. It’s made it much more inconvenient and less sustainable as I now have to get to the station earlier and print out my ticket

Clunky

No option to remove journeys from basket without deleting all of them

E-ticket?

Generally a good app but I don’t seem to get the option to buy an e-ticket.

Broken since last update

The last update means you can no longer use e tickets and you’re forced to do click and collect, which rather defeats the object of the app!

Delay repay process is stupid

To claim delay really you click on your ticket and Andrew your postcode and address. Then it asks for your ticket number - yes the number of the ticket you just clicked delay repay on. You then have to cancel and start again to get your ticket number. On attempt number 2 you enter the ticket number then next. You are asked to enter how much you paid. Yes you guessed it, you have to cancel the process and start again to see how much the ticket cost despite starting from the ticket.

Here’s an idea - make the app grab all the ticket info and automate it. Make customers life easier, reduces errors.

It won’t happen. Making reclaiming for the daily 1-4 hour delays difficult reduces how much they pay out.

On the bright side, this awful company won’t manage this rail line in 5 months time. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The railway experience

To be honest, this app works great can buy tickets for all operators also showing their advance pricing, can easily see live departures, managing the the key smartwatches and season tickets is a breeze and no fees. No split ticketing unfortunately but that’s expected as that would cut into their revenue suppose

Really easy to use App!

Really easy to use App.
Allows you to easily see time options, and how long your journey will take. Also very clear as to what ticket/s you are paying for at the checkout.
Thank You Southern Rail!

Both the web browser and app have similar problem - when trying to see earlier or later schedule, an unknown error occurred.
