DO NOT USE

So first off, like Uber/Lyft/other apps where people apply to work, they take a HUGE cut of all of their Taskers hourly rates. Secondly, I unfortunately lost my young dog to cancer, all while having to move and changing jobs, so when a tasker lightly rear ended me, and I could tell he was sorry and there were no marks on my car I didn’t complain. When a different tasker dropped a wine rack out of his truck and it broke in half, I was only moving it into a storage unit and didn’t have the mental capacity to file a claim. The true devastating part, is two of the taskers were moving my brand new, expensive TV up a spiral stair case (yes a difficult move), but they set it down and I tried to get my life together for the next two months. It was then I noticed the huge crack in my TV. Completely broken. Task rabbit said I “only had 30 days to report. Sorry. Here is $50 credit for another task.” So yes, I should’ve checked right away, but I was dealing with a lot and was never told my the Taskers that they cracked my tv (breaking my wine rack and hitting my car must’ve been enough). Just hire a reputable moving company.

Tasker is a dating site

No one ever showed up to my scheduled New Tasker Workshop. I’ve received on two task requests and both were for sex. The jobs make no sense and the clients never have profile pics. The task requests are full of innuendos. The first was an old lady and the second was a gay Latino. Tasker is a scam. Don’t waste your time.

COI should be mentioned …

This is a very user friendly app. Very convenient. Easy to get in touch with taskers.
However, I don’t know about all New Yorkers living in modern to pre-war type apartment buildings, but a COI, Certificate of Insurance, is required from the tasker BEFORE entering the client’s apartment and doing the task that he/she is assigned to do. The doorman will ask for it.

That being said, I have encountered some issues with hiring some taskers. Some taskers do not know what it is. Others, I will want to book, but can’t bc they don’t have a COI.😑

That observation being said, I’d like to offer a recommendation:

1) Include a section in the tasker’s profile where it mentions that they have proof of a COI.

2) And or, someone can write a blog about what, why and how to obtain it. This way, it saves the taskers and the task rabbit’s time and energy when they do eventually “Chat.”

3) Another idea is for the tasker to upload a photo of the COI.

Overall, I am happy with the app. Hope the suggestion is helpful.

taskers often cancel or no show

On multiple occasions, I have had a task rabbit no show and/or cancel at the last minute. This is extremely frustrating if you have planned your day around it. The chat becomes disabled and there is no way to review the tasker. Needless to say I’m giving up on the app. The app itself is otherwise pretty functional.

Locked out of my account

I reset my password 5 times and this stupid system can’t seem to see my new password now I’m locked out of my account. Great….

Do yourself a favor and use literally any other app.

Unpleasant customer experience

TR has unwarranted weird cancellation charges and fees with hidden charges. No access to Tasker’s before you pay them. I believe Thumbtack is much better and open platform.

I did most of the work

I hired Taskrabbit to puck up a fully assembled table from IKEA and when he delivered my item he never called to tell me he was leaving my table outside in the parking lot at the opposite end of the building from my unit. The had to carry it to all the way myself. I did get a notification asking for a tip. NOT.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience someone grab a task didn’t complete and took the money with no customer services

Waste of time

I paid for assembly with my online IKea order. They outsource their assembly to Task Rabbit. I scheduled the service and the date came and went with no one coming. I called and had to call IKEA to reschedule. Someone picked up the job. They tried to get me to Zelle them money which I refused since I prepaid. Then when the date came, they messaged that they couldn’t make it 20 minutes before they were supposed to be there. So that’s two separate days that I wasted waiting around for these people. I ended up just building the bed myself. Don’t bother.

They will side with the tasker and take your money

Being a new user to the app I scheduled a tasker within 24 hours and was unable to cancel. The tasker refused to cancel or reschedule on their side so I talked to support. They did not care and I got charged 60$ for nothing. I would recommend another app.

Bad app set up

Literally downloaded the app. When to profile. Hit become tasker. It sends me to a webpage where I then login again. It says download the app. Then #2 days complete and submit your profile for verification. Couldn’t find anywhere in the entire app on where to enter any of this. Only thing that seems remotely relatable is another spot that says become a tasker. Back to same webpage for infinite loop. Terrible app set up. Hard pass. Delete

Bad customer service don’t refund the fee

They don’t have a refundable payment fee that u pay in the beginning that’s $25 if you don’t get Accepted by them for Being A Tasker don’t accept the offer they look at your background and won’t refund you back for the one time payment fee if u don’t get the job so don’t waste your time and there time just a scram

Sucky site and app

My helper did not arrive and I COULD NOT message them despite the FAQ section saying I could. Tried to download the app to see if it worked but wouldn’t even let me log in. Frustrating

Customer Service is terrible at best

After trying to contact task rabbit during normal business hours after waiting on hold for 1 hr and 13 minutes I finally gave up. That is what companies like this does; hope you will just give up. On the positive someone in the chat did respond at 8:03am. Like someone would stay on a chat from the previous night to finally get a response. I set a task on a Thursday night and the Friday I was charged $74.40 for the task. The task was supposed to be accomplished on a Monday. I decided on Saturday to do the task myself and then I cancelled the task. The following Saturday my credit card was refunded the charge. Fast forward a few days and I get an invoice for a canceled task and got charged the $74.40 back on the card even though I cancelled the task 24 hours in advance. I could not get anyone at task rabbit so I had to contest the charge with my card issuer. BUYER BEWARE

Taskers are SCAMMERS

So I hired a tasker to come cut a doorknob hole in a door and install the door. He broke the door. Offered to get me a new one I said it’s fine just Micky mouse it, it’s not that serious. He complained that they’re not paying him enough and I offered to Zelle him an extra $100 on top of whatever task rabbit was paying him. He took my money and said his tools died. Said he was gonna come tomorrow. Tomorrow became next day. Next day he said he was going to come next week. After that he said he’s going on vacation. And now 33 days has gone by and he won’t answer my calls and task rabbit won’t refund me my money. HORRIBLE PEOPLE. You guys should be sued
