What's New in The Inner Game
1.4
August 22, 2026
The Inner Game is a performance psychology coaching app. It combines a live AI voice coach, an AI text chat, a content library (the Academy), a daily guided practice, journaling, and personal insights. How the core experience works: on the Today page, users are assigned short audio clips to listen to, then talk to the AI coach to apply the concept to their own life, and finally reflect in the journal. The Academy is a library of content users can explore at their own pace. The Insights section surfaces patterns about the user over time — including "actions" (small practices the coach suggests), "interferences" (mental patterns that get in the way), and "best self" moments. - Microphone access is required to speak with the coach; please allow the mic permission when prompted. It is used only for live voice coaching sessions. - To talk to the coach: tap the + button in the bottom right, or start the morning ritual on the Today page. - An active internet connection is required at all times to speak with the coach. - The app allows users to listen to audio excerpts via the Today tab or the Academy tab, both with the app open and in the background with the phone locked. - Most of the Academy content is gated behind a subscription paywall. The provided demo account has no active subscription, so you can test the full purchase flow. Purchases complete through the sandbox environment at no charge. New in this version (1.4.0): - The Journal tab shows entries and coaching sessions in one timeline; a filter in the top-right lets users hide sessions. Journal entries can also be written about a specific action (via the action's page in Insights). - In Insights, each action, interference, and best-self moment opens as its own page. Users can change an action's status (pending / trying), archive it, mark an interference as quieted, or delete either. - Note: actions and interferences are generated from coaching sessions, so a fresh account shows empty Insights until a session has been completed. Subscription & AI disclosure: - The paywall displays all required auto-renewable subscription information: title, length, price and price-per-month, auto-renewal terms, and functional links to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use (EULA). These links are in the paywall's fixed footer and are always visible without scrolling. - All new subscriptions in the app go exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Separately, some users first subscribed on our website (billed via Stripe). For those users only, Profile → Subscription shows their existing plan, and "Manage Subscription" opens Stripe's secure billing portal in an in-app browser so they can update payment details or cancel the subscription they already hold. This is account management of a previously purchased subscription (per guideline 3.1.3(a)) — the app never offers, advertises, or links to an external way to purchase. Users who subscribed inside the app manage their subscription through the native App Store subscription sheet instead. - AI features (the live voice coach and text chat) process data via LiveKit, Deepgram, OpenAI, Cartesia, Voyage AI, and Anthropic. Users consent at sign-up by accepting the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (required checkbox), and via the system microphone-permission prompt shown before any session.
