Witholding Money From Me
I have never made a negative reveal like this ever before, but unfortunately, this is going to be the first time. My account had randomly been put under restrictions the other day not allowing me to purchase any more tickets which was odd. I then emailed support today after almost a week and asked about my 100+ dollars still being pending after six days of the tickets being purchased, they emailed me back telling me that due to suspicious activity on my account. My funds won’t be available for one whole month. I told them I need this money to buy my groceries for the week. I cannot afford to have this money, be sitting there in their hands for a whole month - seriously disappointed with the handling of this on the apps end. I really love this app for purchasing tickets too-but when you’re purposely withholding money from me that is just messed up.

Permits upcharging
Despite claiming to only permit face value ticket sale, I was overcharged on a purchase. The seller listed the ticket $41 over face value. I realized when I received the ticket. They claimed additional cost were fees they paid, but I saw no proof.
Must Have
If you’re coming to NYC and want to see a show on Broadway without spending half a month’s paycheck. Theatr is a must have! Just be patient and be close to theatre of the show you want to see, and odds are you’ll be able to get it.

This app reminds me of how the internet can be a good thing. It makes critical art accessible. It is goodness.
Joe Turner’s Come and Gone
Amazing performances, Cedric and Reuben were outstanding!! I loved the entire show, the little kids were great. The young man playing Loomis had me shed a tear. Everyone really put life into their characters and made for a wonderful experience.

Maybe call this app NYC Theatr until you have other cities?? I’ve had this app for months now and still Los Angeles not an option?? How long is this going to take??

Scammy as hell
No customer service for when someone sends you a screen grab of tickets that someone else uses right before you. The theater for Oh Mary told me it’s not the first time this has happened with tickets from that app. Just use telecharge it’s verified.
No guarantees
Made my first purchase on this app for a show 3 days away, paid asking price. Opened the app today and it says my order has been cancelled. By the seller. So what is the point of this if the person can just cancel anytime? So they can cancel anytime up until you are sitting in the seat? No thanks.
Scammed
Buyer Beware! I was just scammed! I purchased 2 tickets to the Lion King. The seller posted the showtime for 7 p.m. - an hour earlier than the actual showtime. When I showed up at the theater at 7:30 for the show that was actually at 8:00 p.m. I realized the discrepancy with the time. At that point the link to contact the Theatr App Support was no longer available and I have not been able to find a way to contact the Theatr App to lodge a complaint and get a refund.
This is very sad and unfortunate! I have made several previous purchases using this App. This will be my last - Scammers have invaded the platform and there is no way to engage with the App Support to rectify a problem.

I tried the app and it works. I was able to see my first show last night, and envision seeing many more given the convenience.
Horrible customer service
I went in to sell a ticket I had. When I pressed publish, it told me my account was restricted. Reached out to them and they refuse to give me information as to why, and all they can say is “we are unable to share information regarding your account”. I would never recommend this app to anyone. Customer service basically will tell you to go F off

Unreliable
So far my experience with this app has been nothing but negative. I purchased tickets for a show and they never got transferred over to me. I reached out to seller twice and no response. I reached out to the company and got no answer other than to cancel it. So all these weeks of planning ,finding transportation, taking up peoples time all went to waste and I get nothing for it. This app doesn’t hold sellers accountable or responsible. Good luck!

Thank you to the developers for making this platform so that theatre tickets can be more accessible to more people / so we aren’t forced to pay extra fees to buy or sell through predatory companies. My friend told me about it a few weeks ago, and I have notifications set for several shows now/have already sold two tickets for the amount I bought them for. Great interface, too. Thank you!
