Disappointed with Lack of Transparency
Thrive frequently touts that they have the cheapest prices on health food and they will price match anything you find cheaper elsewhere. I have found cheaper options at the Meijer I work at and on Amazon for certain products and many times have tried to figure out how to request a price match. On the app, there is an info button next to their "low price promise" that only says "limits apply, see Terms". Well, the terms are the terms and conditions for the entire company (thus, very long and complicated) and under Section 4: Prices & Savings, they state they use the MSRP for estimating prices, but NOTHING about price matching. After trying the AI assistant, I finally found out that you have to submit a request but only AFTER you purchase through them. And if approved, you might get reimbursed but only with Thrive Cash.
Also, I have previously tried to cancel my membership multiple times, but there is no simple way to do that. To cancel, you have to talk to the AI assistant who will encourage you to stay and you have to state at least 3 or 4 times that "no, I want to cancel they'll keep haggling with you offering to reduce your rate, or "take 15% off your next 3 orders" to keep you to stay. Sometimes, I just don't want the service anymore. The whole thing is frustrating and feels a little dishonest, if I'm being honest. The only reason I've stayed is for the giveaways.

As much as I love thrive, and the convenience of it. It is very expensive, I wish I was spending less.
App is not very good
Thrive is absolutely amazing. However both the app and the desktop website are extremely sluggish and unresponsive. Particularly anything to do with the recurring shipments and adding, removing or changing dates. Also last month I tried to add an item at least 5 times to my autoship and it simply wouldn’t register. Thrive needs to fix this asap.

Where are Thrive Brands going?
I signed up for my second year of Thrive (which was a price increase) and truly did so because you cannot be thrive brand pricing. Seems like some of the staples I always bought are now gone and less than less.

You do know that there are other apps ( iherb and vitacost) that are basically the same type of store with the same items but here’s the catch, THEY DONT CHARGE YOU A SUBSCRIPTION! And they are around the same price if not cheaper. Oh, you can browse all of their products without CHARGING YOU A SUBSCRIPTION just to browse. So if you want to throw your money away at a BS subscription, heck let me have it instead.

Of all the subscription apps I use this is the second most frustrating.
I pretty much exclusively use my iPhone for subscriptions and that often makes it more difficult.
I’m in my 50’s so I’m somewhat savy and have used a lot of subscription services. For Thrive I get confused as to what I’m subscribed to and frequency, then trying to combine products into one subscription isn’t going to happen simply.
The products themselves are awesome. I love everything I’ve tried from Thrive and have definitely healthyed up my menu.
