Trimtab: Split Shared Costs

Trimtab keeps track of money that several people spend together — a sailing week with friends, a shared flat, or a boat or aircraft owned in partnership. Log who paid what. Trimtab works out who owes whom, and the shortest set of payments that settles everyone up. EQUAL — OR BY OWNERSHIP SHARE Split a restaurant bill evenly between the people who were there. Or divide a berth fee, an insurance premium or an annual inspection by ownership: a 50% owner pays half, a 12.5% owner pays an eighth. Shares are renormalised inside each expense, so a cost carried by only two of four co-owners still lands in the right proportion. EXACT TO THE CENT Every division is calculated in whole cents, leftover remainders included. Balances always add up to exactly zero — no drifting rounding errors, no cent that belongs to nobody. HISTORY THAT STAYS TRUE Each expense remembers the people and the shares it was created with. Adding someone to the group next month never rewrites what already happened. SHARED LISTS Send a link to the people you travel or co-own with. They open the same list on their phone, and every expense anyone adds shows up for everyone else.
