Took me over an hour to get the nfc chip scan to work… everything else worked fine, even scanning my passport details, it was just the chip scan part. After reading through the reviews and trying a few different things recommended by others, it finally worked. I started by downloading Google chrome and setting it as my default browser instead of safari, restarted the whole process there, and it still wouldn’t work. I then fully turned my phone off and once I restarted it I went back onto Chrome and fortunately it had saved my progress, so then it just took me back to the final stage (aka. the scanning part) and hurrah, it magically worked! Would give this app 0 stars if I could.

Wanted to add a positive review!
Seems like there are mainly negative reviews on this app, so thought I would add a positive experience! The only thing I struggled with was I thought I had to take a photo of the front of the passport at first (it mentions the chip so many times that I had it in my head that I needed to photograph the front cover). It was only after the first couple of tries that were rejected that I realised I needed to take a photo of the photo page first 🤦♀️ Once I did that correctly the rest was plain sailing, the selfie worked correctly and so did the chip reading - just ensure you place your phone on top and let go of it!

The reviews for the app are no longer relevant, just used for my passport check and all worked first time with no issues.

Tells me I haven’t downloaded the app when I have and won’t scan passport chip.
