Took me over an hour to get the nfc chip scan to work… everything else worked fine, even scanning my passport details, it was just the chip scan part. After reading through the reviews and trying a few different things recommended by others, it finally worked. I started by downloading Google chrome and setting it as my default browser instead of safari, restarted the whole process there, and it still wouldn’t work. I then fully turned my phone off and once I restarted it I went back onto Chrome and fortunately it had saved my progress, so then it just took me back to the final stage (aka. the scanning part) and hurrah, it magically worked! Would give this app 0 stars if I could.

Wanted to add a positive review!
Seems like there are mainly negative reviews on this app, so thought I would add a positive experience! The only thing I struggled with was I thought I had to take a photo of the front of the passport at first (it mentions the chip so many times that I had it in my head that I needed to photograph the front cover). It was only after the first couple of tries that were rejected that I realised I needed to take a photo of the photo page first 🤦♀️ Once I did that correctly the rest was plain sailing, the selfie worked correctly and so did the chip reading - just ensure you place your phone on top and let go of it!

Good app
The reviews for the app are no longer relevant, just used for my passport check and all worked first time with no issues.
Failed at last step
Tells me I haven’t downloaded the app when I have and won’t scan passport chip.
Useless
Took what should have been 5 minutes and turned it into a frustrating hour experience. Total trash. Should have opted out of this and save the hour of life.

To me it worked as it supposed to. Pretty straightforward. I don’t understand the other reviews maybe since then they improved the app
Why is my government job using some dodgy 1 star app that doesn’t work?
I’ve tried using this on 4 different devices but it didn’t work, I’ve tried resetting my phone, allowing pop ups but nothing is having any effect. It’s a joke that government jobs use such a terrible and unreliable app. I can’t even imagine the amount of data leaks this app has had. I expect better.

You can’t upload your documents on this app. No one answers the phone line. Makes me really angry that charities are using this and losing volunteers as a result!
Make sure to use safari
Quite bad application, took me a while to work it out.
Basically u need to open the link with safari to get a prompt at the top to allow you to continue using the app for id verification.
I was using brave and it wasnt showing.
Hopefully might save some ppl time.

Doesn’t work simple
Not fit for purpose ! Why is this even allowed to exist?? Can’t apply for a job as a result!! So WRONH
Don’t Use With Safari
On my iPhone, I eventually got it to work and when I got it to work, it was quick and painless. Down load another browser app - I used Vivaldi - and it’ll work. It does NOT work with Safari if you’re an Apple products user.

For some one who has issues of scanning the passport chip, reinstall the app would help
Simple fix would improve
As others have said, this is far from perfect. I will echo what others have said – top tip – if you are using an iPhone, select chrome as your default browser before you even start. Worked well for me once I had done that (having read the reviews on here), but was impossible otherwise. God alone knows why the developers have not read these reviews and taken action.

This is extremely difficult to use. I have the minimum phone requirements but whatever i try, the app will not accept my I.D. It has one job to do and it doesn't work. I'm pulling my hair out as it's the only option to use with the company who need the proof :(

The app consistently falls to launch at the step it is required to do so. In case you’re here because of the “Looks like you forgot to download the app to scan your NFC
passport chip?” Error you’re not alone.
