Good philosophy, terrible software
The user experience is not good. The app is slow to start, slow to fetch the emails, has counterintuitive and outdated UI, no manual “refresh inbox” button and the list can go on.
And that was bearable. But recently the iOS app just stopped working. It dies right on boot due to “UNKNOWN” error.
That’s the last straw, I can no longer trust this email provider.

Currently it’s not possible to create a new account, the awful captcha they have doesn’t work even when you enter the correct answer.
Maybe they will fix it but until then, skip this one. There are many other email services out there that actually work.

Accessing Older emails
I feel very sad that I can’t access older emails. I feel a bit trapped now. I get it, not everything in life is free but it would have been helpful to just charge a rate upfront and be transparent rather than doing it later, when we need to see older emails. I’m on the fence with moving to another provider…

We understand your frustration. I am afraid Search in Tuta works differently due to end-to-end encryption, which can limit the default range. We’re continuously improving search for all users and further enhancements are on the way.

Update not working
I opened the app this morning, and it tells me there’s an update. So I go to the App Store, tap the update button, and nothing updates. I think you guys have an issue and need to fix it.

Font size way too small
I love the app and the spirit behind it but the inability to increase the font size prevents me from making it my first choice for email. I’ve been waiting for this feature for years, really hope to see it implemented at some point.

Private and secure
This is an excellent email app not only is it very private secure, it is not out there for people to scam and you must have a passcode to get into it. I like the Security you can’t go wrong with it, it beats all the others
Wouldnt recommend free version (anymore)
Ive been using Tuta for over a year and Ive been really happy with the app, the UI and desktop syncing til now. They’ve recently put more features behind paywalls and seeijg emails older than a couple months now requires the premium feature. This makes the app unusable for me, and extra inconvenient as I have old emails I need to see that are now locked.
It’s a little sad cause I liked them so much before, and now I’m currently switching my emails back to my old provider.
The app would be great if you don’t mind paying for the premium version.

BDS free email app
TBH DOESN'T WORK WELL ON IPHONE ALWAYS SHOWS WHITE SCREEN
iOS iphone app is terrible right now
In the last few weeks the app has been a wreck. taking forever to open and start, screen goes black after a few minutes, search is still terrible but somehow worse, resets the feed to the top multiple times after opening.. love this company but this app is rough and has been for a while.
