Difficulty in updating a Contact Information
I am writing to express my concern regarding the inconvenience I have experienced while attempting to update my contact information for my credit card account.
I am currently living and working abroad, but I continue to actively use my Philippine credit card for transactions in the Philippines. Recently, I needed to update my contact information; however, I discovered that the available options provided by the bank are extremely difficult for overseas clients like myself.
The first option is through the mobile application. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to my previous registered phone number, making it impossible for me to complete the verification process and update my information through the app.
The second option is to contact customer service by phone. However, calling from abroad results in significant international charges from my carrier, making this option costly and impractical.
I respectfully suggest that the bank consider implementing more flexible verification methods for customers residing outside the Philippines. Many financial institutions now offer two-way verification options, such as sending one-time passwords (OTPs) to either a registered email address or a registered phone number. Additionally, some banks allow customers to update their contact information securely through their online banking websites, which is both convenient and accessible for overseas clients.
As a valued customer who continues to use the bank’s services while living abroad, I hope the bank will review and improve its current procedures to better accommodate customers in similar situations. Enhancing these services would greatly improve the customer experience and demonstrate the bank’s commitment to accessibility and convenience.
