Disappointing First-Time Experience: Cashback Claims Never Honored
As a first-time user of this app since July 2026, I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I completed all of the required qualifications to submit cashback claims, and it has now been nearly 30 days since I submitted my first claim. To date, none of my three submitted claims have been approved or honored.
I have intentionally chosen not to link my payment card because I value my privacy and do not want my personal spending information tracked through the app. Unfortunately, it feels as though my claims are being treated differently because I opted not to provide that information, despite following all of the program’s requirements.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this app. If it were possible, I would give it zero stars. The cashback process appears unreliable, and the lack of transparency leaves the impression that the app is designed to encourage purchases at participating gas stations while making it unnecessarily difficult for customers to actually receive the promised rewards.

I decided to tryout this advertised app for cash back and keep having issues with getting any cash back, using same credit card. I got only one time successful cash back the rest all issues. Don’t waste your time

Love this app. It is the most user friendly of all the receipt apps I've found.
Should be easier
I like the Upside app however it should be a bit more streamlined. For example, I should receive cashback on any card I choose to use and should not have to specify each purchase on what card.
Overall it’s fine, but tricky.
The app is a worthwhile investment of your time, but with increased usage, the benefits taper off. What was initially a “10% bonus” becomes one with a max of $10. At the grocery store these days, that’s kind of light. In addition, while using the app 12 or 14 times in a month unlocks bonuses initially, you need to use it 18 or 19 times per month to earn the same rewards as time goes on. As long as you don’t mind getting played a bit, it’s fine.

It’s quite literally free money for money you have to spend anyway. And the app is free no membership or nothing. The only thing that make this app even better is if the cash bank was increased. Then this app would be a cheat code for ways to get money back.
Not enough offers
One last review. I get a canned response directing me to customer support that also doesn’t give any kind of response that makes sense. I’ll be cashing out what little I’ve been able to save and deleting the app. Unfortunate. If I had any actual choices, like my friend IN THE EXACT SAME ZIP CODE, I would definitely keep using this app and sharing it out with friends. (Slightly off topic but also increasingly annoying is that to use the app, I have to log in every single time. No face recognition or anything.). I’ll stick for now with Fetch.
Adding to my previous review - I got a response from upside that honestly didn’t make much sense. I rarely use this app as there are so few option for me to choose from. There are also pretty regular popups asking me to share and invite friends. I wouldn’t share this with anyone - why would I? I have two restaurants and 3 gas stations to choose from. I had a grocery store when I started but it has disappeared, even thought that was one I used. Honestly just not worth it. I was referred to upside by a friend living in the same town as me. She has at least twice the offers to choose from, and from SEVERAL more restaurants than I see. It’s hard to get very excited about 3 gas stations and two restaurants. I’m pretty underwhelmed.
Adding AGAIN to my prior review. I don’t really know what to do - I’m trying this again because gas prices are so high. Upside can NEVER find my credit card in the system so I always have to upload a receipt. And of course, I’ve still got no other offers beyond gas and two restaurants. I dont understand why others have such a different experience.

Website is a very real app. They do end up giving you cash back however, I will say they are very misleading what they advertised often times you were not getting even half of what it says. They’re gonna give you in cash back not only that but they make it extremely hard to claim a lot of the prizes saying it needs review and there’s no way to actually review it. It seems like often times they will drive you to gas stations that don’t offer since off the gallon already. So you end up maybe saving as much as putting in your loyalty rewards number
