None Functional & No Support
Since the app updates I cannot reconnect to my fireplace. I’ve tried everything that I can think of. I found in the app a support section that has a way to contact Valor. The phone number calls a completely different company. The email I haven’t had a response in over a week. I found another email address on Valor’s site, so I tried that. Also, not reply.

Awful user experience
One of the worst designed app I’ve ever installed on my phone. The user interface is NOT Intuitive, it uses non-standard buttons and links that makes navigation difficult.
Each time I use it I need to try to remember where to tap and where to go to do something, even as simple as to turn the fireplace on. And I’m a pro user of iPhone.
I wish there always an alternative (better designed and more intuitive) app that I could use to control my fireplace.

Terrible user experience
The app is almost unusable it is so poorly designed. If you’re looking for a premium experience from your high-end purchase you will be very disappointed. This is a half-hearted attempt to check the ‘app’ box with no consideration into the user experience. As this was designed as the primary control for my fireplace I wish I had went with another fireplace manufacturer.

Primitive and fussy
Better than nothing, but with the wifi module I paid for something. Not intuitive, lacks basics like pre-set and saved temperature and timer, doesn’t integrate with Google, HomeKit or any smarthome IOTs, stopping the timer minutes is like trying to catch the jackpot on a VLT, and drops wifi every power outage = taking apart the unit to reset the internal wifi adapter. Bad software for an otherwise high end product. Valor, please step it up.

Want to know the low end of the thermostat setting? It’s green.
Want to know why you have a red exclamation point on your screen? They don’t tell you.
Want to name your fireplaces according to room? You can’t, but you can give it an icon of a chair.
This is nonsense. While simplicity is good, this app needs some basic words to make it user friendly.
I would have chosen a different fireplace if I had researched this app. My need for remote access is very important. This does not give me the piece of mind I need.

Wifi doesn’t stay connected
Somehow if I leave the house the app shows that the wifi is disconnected. If I’m home then it says it’s connected. If I’m home I can just use the remote. What’s the point?
One of the worst user interface I’ve seen on a app
The user interface is really not intuitive and confusing. Unfortunately I think this app is the only way to control the Valor fireplace with the wifi module.
Decent interface, seems a little buggy
The interface of the app is decent and somewhat intuitive, but some aspects of the app do not seem to work correctly.
The target temperature function of the app does not seem to work properly at all. The fireplace keeps itself at the highest setting while passing the target temperature. I have to manually turn the fireplace down or it will continue to climb past the target temperature.
