What's New in Vero

2.0.1

August 30, 2026

NEW IN 2.0.1 A brand-new app icon for a big new chapter. Vero 2.0 is our biggest update yet. Your health data now meets you where you are: on your Home Screen when you wake, in the question you ask every morning ("why is my score what it is?"), and on the road to the race on your calendar. TRAIN FOR SOMETHING Pick your race, 5K to marathon, and Vero builds the road to it: base, build, peak, and taper, derived from your own training history. Setup takes under a minute, prepopulated from your last 8 weeks. There is no spreadsheet to obey: the plan speaks through the surfaces you already use, easier weeks arrive labeled, and your body always gets the final vote. VERO REMEMBERS ITS OWN ADVICE Each morning's suggested intensity is recorded before you train, and the next day Vero grades itself honestly. Sunday Review now opens by following up on last week's advice, and over time Vero shows what actually happens to your readiness when you take the easy days versus push through them. SCORES THAT TELL THE TRUTH Recovery now uses four honest tiers: Optimal (85+), Good (70-84), Moderate (50-69), and Poor (below 50). The Readiness green state is now called Ready, because 67 means cleared to train, not peak condition. Every surface agrees. No grade inflation. WIDGETS Readiness, Recovery, Sleep, and Strain on your Home Screen and Lock Screen, plus a dedicated Strain widget for training days. Check your morning readiness before you are out of bed. At midnight, yesterday's scores step aside so you never mistake old numbers for today's. SLEEP THAT KNOWS HOW OLD YOU ARE Deep sleep naturally declines with age. Vero now grades yours against age- and gender-adjusted targets. If you have been told for months that your deep sleep came up short, you may find out tonight that it was on target all along. MEET YOUR BODY CLOCK Vero learns your chronotype from the mornings when no alarm wakes you, and shows your natural sleep midpoint and ideal bedtime window. Your evening reminder now tells you when to be in bed, not just how long to sleep. DAYLIGHT, CONNECTED TO YOUR SLEEP Time in daylight now appears alongside your sleep, and Vero learns whether your sleep actually improves after brighter days. It tells you honestly, even when the answer is "no link yet." SWIMMING, IN ITS OWN LANGUAGE A dedicated Swim page that speaks swimmer, not runner: distance in meters, pace per 100m, SWOLF efficiency, total strokes, and your dominant stroke. Personal bests included. PERSONAL RECORDS All-time bests in running, cycling, hiking, walking, and swimming, seeded from your entire workout history. Record-setting workouts earn a trophy in your history. FAIRER COMPARISONS Insights now compare each session against your recent similar sessions, same distance range, hills accounted for. "8s/mi faster than your typical" is a real signal, not noise. WHY THIS SCORE? Tap your Readiness battery and Vero shows its work: where your capacity started this morning, what sleep debt or training drain cost you, and the numbers behind it. After a workout, you see exactly what it cost, plus tonight's sleep target and tomorrow's heart-rate ceiling. OVERNIGHT OUTLIERS When your overnight signals drift from your own normal, a calm card shows what Vero is watching, with the statistical work behind it. No alarmism, no diagnosis. Alerts are discreet, stay off your lock screen, and can be turned off entirely. PRIVACY, HARDENED Notification titles no longer show your scores, a new shield hides them in the app switcher, and Delete All Data now removes every trace. Your health data stays on your phone. No accounts, no servers, same as always. AND MORE Fitness age from your VO2max, HRV context for your age and gender, Today's Signals on the Insights page, weather on outdoor workouts, upgraded Trends with best and average stats, a tighter dashboard, and dozens of fixes backed by a new automated test suite over the scoring algorithms.

5 Stars – Game-changer for training smarter

I’m a huge fan of Vero Recovery & Readiness. As someone who wears an Apple Watch daily and cares about actual performance and longevity, this app delivers exactly what I’ve been looking for.
The level of health data and insights it pulls together is impressive. It turns my HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, and training load into clear, personalized Readiness and Recovery scores from Day 1. Everything feels tailored to me instead of generic population averages, which makes the daily guidance genuinely useful.
I especially appreciate how it breaks down sleep quality, strain from workouts, and gives actionable morning insights without overwhelming me with raw numbers. The interface is clean, the calculations feel science-backed, and the privacy focus (on-device processing) is a big plus.
If you’re serious about recovery, training optimization, or just understanding your body better, download this app. It’s quickly become an essential part of my routine. Highly recommend!

Awesome fitness app!

Love that it pulls all the data in one place and is easy to read, navigate, and understand. The tracking is on point. Highly recommend for anyone, no matter where you are in your fitness journey.

Finally a health app that actually makes sense of my data

I’ve tried a bunch of health tracking apps and most of them just dump numbers on you without any context. Salus is different. It takes everything from my Apple Watch and turns it into something I can actually act on. The recovery and readiness scores feel genuinely useful, and the AI insights give me a nudge in the right direction without being preachy about it. Sleep breakdown is great too. The interface is clean and easy to navigate. Well worth it.
