One of the worst banking apps if not the worst. There’s zero coherence across any of the features and worst of all Face ID keeps automatically being turned off periodically
Really really slow
I really need this app to work better. It’s extremely slow to open especially when reviewing if an online store is supported by the Virgin red rewards. When it doesn’t load the page to collect the reward I have to pause my shopping plans until I’m on a PC. This needs to be sorted because I’m transitioning from Avios to Virgin.

Not functional or easy on the eye
Apart from most of the text being off the screen so cannot see the options, the tracking does not work and issues such as copying you Virgin Red ID presents and error message - it is also clunky and I’m tied of the constant need to skip the M&S ad on the first screen. Requires so much improvement please!!!!

Frustrating
Advertises M&S rewards but it’s impossible to connect my M&S account. Just freezes or hangs once I go and log in to M&S. I have 700 points to spend but I just don’t care. Deleted.
Terrible App
Every page you try within this app just sits loading. It’s not an internet/wifi issue as every other appt works fine.

Impossible to contact
Although I have two personal perks, I just cannot use them as they do jut apply the perks. I contacted them by email several times and always get “we will get back to you”. Unfortunately they never do. There is no phone contact.

Love Virgin Points
I love this app and that you can earn points on the shopping I’m already doing at Macy’s, Apple, and Lululemon. The points add up fast and I was able to use them for flights to London.

Broken
Latest version as of 2/4/26. Pop up screen appears. Click on Getting Started. Nothing happens. Connected via cellular. Broken. Please get a customer focus group together. Completely useless app.

UPDATE: The problem below has been resolved by recent updates.
Since the app was updated with a new look and feel it’s 50/50 whether it will show any content apart from my points total whenever I open the app. Some days it’s fine and others, like today, I get nothing on any of the tabs. I have tried disabling Safari content blockers such as Blockbear but it makes no difference.

Another app falling short….
Lack of user testing would again seem to be a characteristic of this app. Virgin need to do better. I’m trying to check my balance on my Café Nero rewards and tap the “check my balance” button. It tells me that “Oops - no Internet”. But, I do have Internet and it’s working! There are a number of other faults with this app including not being able to get to your reward vouchers in a couple of clicks and then not having enough information readily available for when they expire or whether they’ve been used. Basic stuff that Virgin isn’t getting right.

Wants access to your data without clarity
I have a virgin Atlantic account and wanted to link it to a new virgin red account. Because my Atlantic account has been dormant since pre covid I was told I had to show proof of ID, they wanted me to link my .gov account which I told them I did not want to do as I was not clear why they needed that or what they would do with the data once accessed. I was told to send copies of DL and passport instead and that would be sufficient, which I did to a secure link. Was then told again I needed to link to .gov and share details, even though I can open a bank account with a DL and passport and this is just a reward scheme! Become suspicious of the data they wanted to access without being clear why, or for what purpose. Checked them out on Reddit and trust pilot too, awful reviews and shoddy practices, points not being awarded to accounts, rewards not being honoured. You know what they say, if something looks too good to be try, it probably is! Avoid!

Does not do anything
Trying to sign in or register but the app just opens and there’s nothing, no settings, password or value what to do just a page ! Weird
Unusable
Genuinely unusable app. Their multifactor authentication is terrible and goes in loops and then eventually locks my account.

Riddled with errors. Cant link accounts for points…
I signed up for Virgin Red 2 months ago I am effort to link my new Virgin Red Rewards Mastercard to my existing Virgin Atlantic flying club membership. I never received the 60000 points for applying and receiving the Mastercard. I can not link this app nor its website to Virgin Atlantic nor the Virgin Red Mastercard. I get an error from all the above and no way to contact any human customer service. I get a canned auto reply about a genie being overhauled u til October. Pathetic
