Reliable dog walker
Jacob has walked our three dogs for over a year. He is very loving, reliable and loving with the dogs.
No customer support
Wag cancelled my dog sitting booking even though my sitter and I were messaging. This caused my dogs to not have care& no notification was given stating why or who cancelled. My messages with the sitter were deleted as they were connected to the sitting. I have reached out to the “email” as that’s the only option. No one will call me to discuss this huge mistake on their end & im completely dissatisfied with the response time. No accountability on their end. Mind you they canceled at 9 pm and I had to find other care.

Buyer Beware
I’ve used Wag multiple times with good experiences, but my recent pet sitting experience was extremely disappointing. The caregiver provided very little communication, did not follow important care instructions, and I had serious concerns about whether my dog was receiving adequate care while I was away.
What has been even more frustrating is Wag’s customer support. I reported the issue, was contacted to schedule a follow-up call, provided my availability, and then received no response despite multiple follow-ups and their stated response timeframe.
When you trust a company with your pet, you need confidence that both the caregivers and the support team will be there when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, this experience has seriously impacted my trust in Wag.

I appreciate Diego very much! He was available last minute for a walk-through meet and greet and as well come stay I have a sleepover with my puppy. He loved me some notes and answering questions and I trusted him in my home very nice young man I would like pictures in the future which I would share but he took very good care of my sunny !!

First time using this app and service
Nice app and great way of selecting dog walk and board services. This is slightly different from Rover as you can just put in your request and Wag will find pet sitters for you instead of you messaging every other pet sitter in the area.
No Caregiver Selection Review Time?
Previously, we could selected “preferred caregivers” and the app would offer non-preferred caregivers as options if preferred weren’t available. However, several times over the past year, I’ve had a non-preferred caregiver selected and confirmed for us without it ever being reviewed. These are our pets and family… we should ALWAYS have the option to review who is taking care of them and who is coming into our home.

Not intuitive
Finding things like recent report cards, walkers who requested my walk/ drop in, are far from intuitive on this app. Takes a lot of digging, things not popping up when I click the link I was texted about it.
Came home to a dead dog
I used this app to book care for my dog while I was out of town and had an experience that has completely changed how I view the platform.
My booking was scheduled to begin between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM on June 11. According to my home camera footage, the sitter did not arrive at my home until approximately 5:17 PM that day.
The following day, I was informed that my dog had allegedly been sick in my home. Later that same afternoon, I was notified that my dog had died while in the sitter’s care.
Losing a pet is devastating under any circumstances. What made this even harder was my experience with communication afterward. It took weeks before I received a response from the company’s Safety and Compliance team, and I found it difficult to obtain information or written communication regarding their review of what happened.
I understand that emergencies can happen and that not every outcome can be prevented. My concern is whether the level of care and oversight provided matched what I believed I was paying for when I entrusted my dog to the platform.
I encourage pet owners to ask detailed questions, understand exactly how visits will be handled, and consider using cameras or other methods to verify care when using any pet-sitting service.

Wag Nightmare
Used the Wag app, first girl canceled on me 15mins before she was supposed to show up. Then, I hired another girl. The app kicked her off and me off where we couldn’t contact each other, so i freaked out. She had my house key and my animals wouldn’t have been taken care of for 3 days. I deleted the app. Very scary and do not recommend, do not think it’s safe.

No real time updates
I left two dogs with nice sitter for the whole day, but I never received any messages or updates all day. I was worried since it was my first time using your service.
I’m accustomed to getting text message or a quick photo on my phone to reassure me things are okay.

Samantha Herget is Outstanding
Sam has changed my very shy Shiloh from being afraid of everything to be in a strong, independent dog. Every time she has had Shiloh in her care I come home to a happy, loving dog, who is happy to see me, but very sad that her buddy is leaving. We have been so pleased with Samantha that she is now going to be walking and sitting with our corgi who is definitely a handful but Samantha has her enjoying walks to start with and I’m sure we’ll have a great time while we’re on vacation, I highly recommend her. She definitely doesn’t do just the basics. She loves animals and it shows.

App not user friendly.
Terrible system just use rover
You can’t message or view possible dog walkers without paying. They make you submit one specific time, even if you are flexible on time, and then send that request out to everyone on wag. It’s then up to the walkers if they are able to accommodate that one time and reach out to you. Rover at least lets you view 100+ potential dog walkers in your area, then you can message and have a conversation with them to figure out a good schedule. This system makes no sense.

Terrible customer service
There is no way to get a hold of a customer service representative by phone. Literally 0. This means that if there is an emergency with your pet, you have to email them, and someone will call you back when the email has been received if the email is even being reviewed by an actual human. There’s no timeline for that, either. The account login is antiquated. The company takes a huge percentage from the walkers including from their tips. Do yourself a favor and use another method of finding pet care.

We use Wag when we need our dogs walked. The basic service provided is fine, but the UI needs an overhaul.

Sadly, this is yet another 2000’s era gym where it is impossible to cancel membership. Just join for the time you need
