No gate access
App does give me an option for gate access. One of the deciding factors for choosing West Coast Storage over other storage retailers.
Response from developer
Hi Shadhi, if the location you're storing with offers the hands-free bluetooth entry feature we would be happy to get this corrected, please stop by our office so we can troubleshoot the issue. This feature is not available at all locations currently but we're adding more all the time!
Can’t create an account
Put my email in several times. Try a different email just to set it up and I never got an email to confirm and I can’t use the app. It’s a great selling feature, but if it doesn’t work, it’s stupid. And yes, I checked my spam folder.
Not even connecting to my account
It is not even connecting to my account. I’ve signed up and now it’s saying I’m not a customer
Great, easy to use.
Great app. Very easy to manage and maintain my account. I can open the gate by using the app instead if using keypad.
Perfect app to lose your property to a lien
First the good: the Bluetooth feature for opening gates works pretty well.
Now the god awful: payments, invoicing, and payment history are all an absolute disaster. When I enter my credit card information and select the auto payment feature the app will not save the credit card info; sometimes it will say “saved” but then when I reopen the app it will show that there is no payment info saved. Other times it will just immediately say “Failed to update auto payment. Please try again.”
The app will sometimes show “auto payment active” without having a credit card on file, and other times will show that a payment is overdue with a balance of $0.
The “payment history” tab on the app says “You don’t have any invoices for this store” despite the fact that the “invoice history” tabs will show that prior invoices have been paid.
Earlier this year the company threatened a lien on me of my units despite being told that auto payment was all good to go. At the time I suspected the employee who set up the account had made a mistake, but I now think that maybe he’d done it correctly and their software system choked; based on the app I believe it was likely the latter.
Anyone who understands the laws around mini storage knows that the company can seize and auction off your property if you miss a payment and don’t make your account current within a couple of months. The horrific reality about this app and the underlying billing process is that there is a very real scenario where a customer does everything right, in good faith, but the payment doesn’t go through due to a problem with the company’s software…and the customer loses their storage contents when a lien is placed and the property is sold at auction.
Even just today I checked the status of my units and it said both “Autopay Active” and “Overdue” simultaneously; in other words, they claim that autopay is active but they haven’t taken payment and my account is in arrears!
I manually entered payment information and selected the option to pay current month AND next month as well, so I could have a safety margin…and the app then ignored my instructions and only charged the current month.
At BEST this app is an embarrassment; at worst it could lead to a customer losing their property through no fault of their own.
