Hopeless for such a wealthy company
For the most part of the app is okay and does its job but there are two things which perpetually annoying and seem never to be fixed. The first one is when you go to search for a transaction amount instead of getting figures you get a selection of grey lined boxes. Contacted support about three months ago about this still not fixed l. Second thing when I went to file a suggestion to fix this, the Send function broke with a generic error message. The app will never get better if you can never hear from us.

Now the card feature just leads then freezes!!
So annoying!!
This app is so annoying how you canāt see all of your accounts. It makes banking so hard. We were told it would be fixed by June 2025. This still hasnāt happened. Seriously considering changing banks!
Canāt use Apple Pay
There is no way to add my debit card to my phone. The āadd to Apple walletā is not available on my app. False advertising
Time waste
There isnāt enough time in the world to play twenty questions when transferring. Horrendous payment experience, worse than using an Australian bank.

Unreliable. Most frustrating bank app ever.
This is the most annoying and frustrating banking app ever. It often shows incorrect balances, does not complete transactions or just doesnāt even allow you to login. The way the errors are handled with just āsomething went wrongā is awful design and makes for a very painful experience. This banking app fails to meet the basic requirements for a bank app and itās so incredibly disappointing.

I cant log into my westpac one app, it said āwe failed to retrieve your informationā, and i think its outdated but I cant update my westpac app since there arent any update button

Unresponsive
Don't know what's happened to my app but it's become really unresponsive on my phone. You open up an account and I can't see anything half the time, the rest of the time it takes about a minute to refresh and show me transactions. Quite frustrating when you're out and you want to do something quickly. For example I might want to transfer money between accounts and it freezes.
The other thing I've noticed is that when I've gone to pay for things like my spark Bill or my New Zealand tickets, through Internet banking option (because I want to avoid credit card fees Fees), it doesn't work for some reason I need to use the credit card.

So slow to load
Itās slow to load transactions on your mortgage account or credit card annoying when youāre needing to see it quickly. Sort it out man!
Dark mode when?

App log in issues
This app is a joke far to many issues with logging in, itās better to use on web browser.
No Dark Mode
Iāve just become a new Westpac customer and I was shocked to find out that the app does not have a dark mode. All of my other banking apps have had this for years. Other than that, all the basics are there so itās a decent app.
Pages in app not loading, staying white
Generally the app works fine, easy to use etc. the last few months Iāve struggled to load pages with the app. For example Iāll open the pay/transfer option, and it stays blank. Happens lots now. Iāve try deleting and reinstalling app multiple times, and still no luck. Bit of a pain when I canāt transfer money, or even fix my new mortgage rate

Finally an update that works
A banking app that simply doesnāt work is of no use to anyone and itās been stumbling along for weeks like that. But finally today (24 Oct 2025) an update (40.2) that works. However compared to the convenience and functionality of many other banking apps, Westpac continues to have a report card that says āCould/shoud do betterā. How any app developer manages to bypass their own quality controls and (previously) release a version of an app that simply doesnāt work, is beyond me.

Rubbish update
Update results in unable to see transactions!! Fix it!
App stopped working and no resolution
Have used this app for its lifetime, it has now changed and brings up a blank white screen when you try to do anything beyond seeing the opening page. Have contacted via 0800 but still no change to the fault. This is on an iPhone 15 Pro.
V40.1 Broken
App stopped loading account details after logging in on mobile data. Issue started early October 2025. (Probably 40.1 version as that was two weeks ago). No idea what they broke but bad enough to leave the bank after 10 years if this continues. Works normally on wifi.
