Free Birthday dessert hard to use

The app is NOT user friendly. Add to that the free birthday dessert was impossible to redeem. I claimed the reward, which gave me 15 minutes to redeem. I ordered my sliders, added the dessert and tried to check out. I was then asked for a “code” to redeem my free dessert. The page with the code didn’t mention anything about needing to remember it and I couldn’t find it anywhere on the site. Apparently it disappears after you claim it! I assumed that by claiming the reward, it would automatically take the price off when I checked out. Ridiculous!
