These lights are maddening!
I have a lot of these lights in my studio. Price is decent and they look good. But……they do NOT consistently stay connected. And it doesn’t matter how far, or close, to the router they are. I have lights that have stopped turning on for weeks and out of no where turn on. Other lights will simply no longer connect and the only way they work is if I manually turn them on/off.
Right now I have lights in one room that once they are on will NOT connect to app anymore and therefore will not turn off unless I unplug them. but they are in the ceiling so that is a pain.
And while the developer is usually quick to respond to help via the app, the trouble shooting steps are ridiculous.
My advice is if you want to have wifi lights go with another brand. I’ll be switching the majority of mine out soon because I’m sick of them not working.

Trash app but your only choice for wiz
I’m not sure how many years it has been since Phillips purchased Wiz, but it’s clear that prioritizing compatibility and functionality has always been last. Whether it’s shortcuts failing for no reason, a total lack of ability to integrate with the apple “home” app, or a total lack of security for the bulbs on your local network, this app seems great until you discover its numerous years long bugs! Hue app came first and was a way more robust product, and this festering garbage heap still lacks features the first Hue product had for years. I could write an app myself and it wouldn’t have been half this poorly thought out and executed. Terrible.
Edit: recently had a power outage, 25 out of the 30 bulbs I have will not reconnect. I am out almost $700 worth of hardware not even counting the cost of labor of trying to reinstall these. It seems like Phillips is trying to set themselves up for class action lawsuit.

Simple and works well, but…
Simple and easy to use although horizontally scrolling to access rooms isn’t the greatest user experience. In need of some simple UI improvements / options, but mostly OK and has worked consistently since setup.
There is a v2 of the app and unfortunately the reviews for it are abysmal. If you decide to remain on the legacy app you are punished each and every time you open the app by having to bypass their popup message urging you to switch to v2. Additionally if you switch to v2 and decide to switch back all your data will be gone and you’ll have to re set up everything. Insultingly bad user experience. Otherwise this is a solid 4 star app in need of only minor tweaks.
There are vague replies to poor reviews of v2 suggesting fixes or improvements are coming soon but without knowing for sure when those will happen or if they will work… I will continue to use v1 legacy begrudgingly.

It's ok on the old version
I have never migrated to the new version but it seems like there are more negative reviews from people using the newer version. I do have issues every now and then with bulbs dropping a signal and having to repair, but that's usually it. and one other issue I've noticed is that the app does not adjust for daylight savings time. So I usually have to go in and adjust the time frames for the outdoor bulbs I have on a schedule, so that's just a little bit annoying. I have the same issue as others where the App will tell me I'm not connected to the correct Wi-Fi, but if I opt to pair manually it usually works for me. The bulbs themselves are amazing, I am super picky about lighting, so I love being able to adjust the Tone, brightness, and literally every color in the rainbow! The app could use some work though, it would be nice if things worked a little smoother and the signal wasn't dropped as frequently. I understand the bulbs are a newer concept, so it probably just takes some time to perfect this kind of application but I hope they work out the bugs because they'll definitely get an update of five stars from me if they do!

Major Connectivity Issues
I loved the idea of creating custom colors for my lights with the changing of the seasons/holidays. I am using the light bulbs in my Coach lights and porch light. Unfortunately, there are major connectivity issues…in that one or more bulbs is regularly unable to connect to the app, therefore not turning on or not shutting off. It’s never the same bulb. The issue likes to randomly rotate between my 4 light bulbs. How often is this happening? Every other day. Every other day one or more bulbs won’t turn on/off. The app says the bulbs can’t connect to the wifi. I have to manually unscrew and rescrew the bulb back in and like magic, connectivity is restored.
The reason I purchased these bulbs was so that I could have my exterior lights turn on/off with a set schedule. Because of the crappy app, I never know when all 4 of my lights will actually work. On the rare day that all of them actually turn on, it’s not guaranteed they will stay that way. I’ve gone outside an hour later and one of the lights will be off. It’s infuriating. There’s no reason for the excuse of a weak wifi signal. I have a wifi booster in my garage.
My advice to you is to find smart bulbs that do not use the Wiz app. It’s nothing but a joke.
