Am I missing something?
I’ve had the Yale lock professionally installed and redownloaded the app.
The lock itself does its job fine. Apparently the $200 lock I bought also needs another device so that it can be wifi enabled?
On the app, I say “redownloaded” because I stayed at an Airbnb years ago that recommended use of the app. I can’t delete it from my keychain and every online help guide keeps saying to go to a section I simply don’t have on my app.
The whole thing is extremely disappointing. I switched from kwikset because I thought this was too of the line. I sincerely hope I’m missing something because if this is what a ~$200 lock gets you and the app is essentially useless since there’s no wifi option without another purchase, hard pass.

Lost connection
It’s a great app but it keeps getting disconnected from the Wifi

To be honest and i am very impress. Since my first time install the Yale lock. It work well and . I really do loving it . And will purchase for more soon
Lock Update Fails
I’m stuck in an endless loop where the app says I have a lock firmware update for matter support, I click update, the update immediately fails with an error that isn’t descriptive, and then the app again tells me I need to update.
I’ve tried to troubleshoot - replaced batteries in lock, tried a different phone, WiFi on/off, etc.
Same problem - please fix or help!

Menu bar hides battery status
The app works Ok, but the menu bar overlays the battery status on the app on my iPad, which is annoying. There is plenty of real estate on the app to address this issue. Once addressed, I will change my rating for the app.
Used to work…!
But no more, even out of lockdown. This followed a trend of apps that work extremely well for a while, and then lock you out of the product. Shame on you Yale/August 😒
Good stuff
Just installed an Assure Lock2 and the first week has been flawless. Easy UI in the app and lock works great.
Get Low Battery Alerts Popup
The app used to work fairly well with occasional hiccups. Recently, Yale have offered low battery alerts & if you don't opt in you receive a popup asking if you want to Get Low Battery Alerts every time you open a lock. This is incredibly annoying as we have 3 locks tied to the app & I'm made to answer this question over & over & over for each lock every time I open the app. I feel Yale is trying to force its customers to turn on these alerts as a way to collect customers' data. Yale, please stop.

Always liked
Always liked yale and august, what i love most is that you can configure both yale and august under either apps to have the locks all in one place. Yale just needs to make a decent doorbell camera now to have that in the same app.
AMAZING
I absolutely love my smart Lock. I do Airbnb’s and I’m able to program new codes anywhere I am and I can see one guest check in and check out when they leave and I’m able to have more control over the door. Makes it so much easier I love this.
Great app for home locks
This app, with my Yale locks, gives me complete control of my deadbolt door locks. I can open and close the locks from anywhere, and I can give temporary access to anyone through the app. I especially love that I can checks all my door locks before I go to sleep from the comfort of my bed.

Terrible
First, the lock was difficult to install because the instructions are awful. The app is worse. It’s very buggy and the help function is worthless. Plus, the user interface is minimalist to the point of being almost blank. I still can’t get the lock or the app to work quite right. I’m sorry I ever got them.

Registration process
The registration process establishes a password for August.com. No explanation what that is or why. Also uses a VM phone number I do not recognize from the person who initiated the invite.
