What's New in Yandex ID

5.8.0

October 13, 2026

We’ve left only 2FA accounts on the main screen so that nothing distracts you from generating codes for two-factor account protection. Managing documents, devices, payments, and access has become even more convenient through the Account section. It now also includes notifications — from important updates across Yandex services to payment reminders.

FAQ

What does Yandex ID do?

Yandex ID replaces Yandex Key and offers faster, password-free sign-ins to Yandex services. It generates one-time codes or images for instant access without needing to remember passwords or wait for SMS. The app also serves as a secure authenticator for two-factor authentication and a central hub for managing all your Yandex account information.

How does the instant login feature work?

Instead of typing a password, you can sign in by entering a code or tapping an image provided by the app. This process takes only seconds and eliminates the need for passwords, SMS messages, or push notifications. Your digital key is securely linked to your account and is unique to you.

Is Yandex ID a secure authenticator?

Yes, Yandex ID functions as a secure authenticator supporting two-factor authentication (2FA) and one-time password (OTP) generation. It follows international OTP/TOTP standards, making it familiar to users of apps like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. It provides a secure way to log in to services that require one-time passwords.

Can I manage my Yandex accounts with this app?

Absolutely. Yandex ID acts as a password and access manager for all your Yandex accounts. You can manage your data, documents, devices, payments, and permissions all within one application. This includes features like sharing subscriptions, controlling purchases, setting spending limits, and creating secure child accounts with content filtering.

What are the backup and recovery options?

The app allows you to create a secure cloud backup of your authentication data. You can restore this backup using your phone number when needed. Additionally, you can save a local backup file, which is useful for safely transferring your 2FA accounts to a new device.
