Zero stars. Doesn't function.

The walk-through guides don't link anywhere. You can't close reservations for a day in advance, this thing is just absolutely feeble it's the worst most useless product I've ever seen

And the fact that it has only 1-star ratings for the last year and a half shows that the developers don't even care.

Horrible App and Company

The app always has a bug - even after multiple updates to their app they can’t seem to get it right. Customer service is horrible. No one there knows what they are doing. This is from real experience dealing with these goofballs.

Terrible!!!

We’ve been using Yelp Guest Manager, but unfortunately, the experience has been quite frustrating. The app crashes frequently, which is especially problematic during peak hours when we’re busiest. Every time it closes, we’re forced to log in again with a password — this slows us down and disrupts service.

Another major issue is that we can’t properly log walk-in guests into the system, which is a basic and essential feature for any reservation platform.

The space allowed for messaging customers is also extremely limited — it’s too short to communicate clearly and professionally, especially when confirming or updating reservations.

Overall, the app feels clunky and not user-friendly. A reservation system should be smooth, intuitive, and built to support the fast pace of restaurant service. Honestly, we find systems like Toast Reservations much more efficient and easier to use.

We hope Yelp considers making serious improvements to better meet the needs of restaurants.

Prefer old UI

Please give us back the old UI, the newest version has a lot of features to improve, before it fully implemented pls give us back the old UI

Terrible devs

As the app is updated, devs are not aware or thorough enough and functionality is broken through updates. Their devs have undergrad experience as they are not even troubleshooting new versions before release to market. Sad

Extremely Disappointing

With the phasing out of yelp reservations and the obligatory transfer of use for restaurants to make booking with guest manager, you would think that this platform would be more fine tuned. Yelp guest manager is poorly designed, lacking the helpful features that yelp reservations offered. The fact that one must toggle between reservation vs. waitlist vs. seated view is totally pointless. And currently, I’m not even able to access reservations on the browser, because of some “error”. Yelp, do better. I’m writing this review while on hold, trying to make a reservation of a party of 20, of which I cannot, because the system overrides parties to larger than 20.

Very buggy update

Since the latest update the app has been nothing but issue after issue. Constantly having to delete and redownload in order for it to function for about 10 or so minutes then the same issues return. Shame as it was perfectly functional before but I suppose the new monetary requirements are what are driving these new problems

New updates bring constant crashes

The last month with this app has been impossible. Their customer support is nonexistent. We deal with crashes during our busiest times. The waitlist won’t let us add guest, and table maps don’t sync up. There’s not much concern for customer experience.

Update 8.7.6 is bad

Latest update is terrible. Very confusing to look at. Accidentally notifying the wrong person and can’t tell if they are a yelp guest or a walk in. Please change back!

Bad new update

I am currently a host at a restaurant and this new update has me confused. It doesn’t show the wait times and it’s so hard to seat people. The one before you can seat with a push of a button. Please change it back. I am very confused at work right now

So many bugs

After every update there’s always a bug and it’s always the same bug. The cover count on the mobile app includes cancelled reservations, this confuses us of the actual count. Every time this happens.

NEW UPDATE IS TRASH

Bad for business, has slowed down the seating & finding guest process immensely. Cannot search for specific notes. Extremely frustrating

Sellers must consider when registering on Yelp

Yelp forces merchants to pay for advertising. If merchants do not buy advertising, they will delete all the good reviews of the merchants and keep all the bad reviews until the merchants pay $400+ in advertising fees. All Yelp reviews are not computer settings, but human settings. Therefore, merchants should consider carefully when registering Yelp. Merchants should pay attention to this point.

Horrible

Unable to cancel this service. We use OpenTable for reservations.

Review

This is great when we seat by station ( busier shifts, PM shifts). But can not be used when we seat by server. The booths are popular during the day but concentrated in areas. To be fair we rotate seating in those areas. Hard to make into a stations that way and be fair.

Mediocre …AT BEST. Just another Yelp data collection app.

So I thought Yelp Seatme was ok. Not great by far and had a ton of issues that never were fixed, but Guest Manager makes Seatme look like it was made by actual restaurant people. The biggest pain so far after just a couple days is the inability to pick our own table to use when making a new reservation. It just auto assigns and has no selection option. Also it forces you to get a phone number and sometimes you’re just putting a quick reservation in. I get they want everyone’s information but let me make the reservation without it if I so choose. Also, the app should be more customizable. I don’t use half the stuff on the left bar, let me remove it please. Also, taking away the double tap feature to go right to seating a table is a big mistake. Now just to seat someone you have to click 5 times. I need it to be fast. The backend stuff is also a pain, you really have to go in and set it up perfectly or else it effects your whole system.

On top of it all, this was forced on us at 530pm in the middle of dinner, then none of our guests info was in the system. We were able to get 1 years worth of notes but not all of it. For a company all about collecting data I’m shocked they didn’t keep it all. Just not really impressed, it’s like they took the good stuff from Seatme and threw it out and took the bad stuff and added it to a new app that some small slow paced restaurant used and got paid to review and say it’s great.

Terrible Merge from Yelp Reservation to Yelp Guest Manager

I am recently forced by Yelp to merge from Yelp Reservation to Guest Manager. The previous Yelp Reservation was OK so far. Now it turns to useless system that I don’t even wanna use it anymore. It was a mess for me to use the updated version of Guest Manager without telling me that it will be change. And I was told that the updated version of Guest Manager will have the same or even better functionality than Yelp Reservation. Maybe I get the point if that happen. But how can you merge into the system that’s useless, eg. it can’t adjust time if customer arrive early. I can’t create tags to label my valuable customers. There are lots of things that I can’t even customize in configuration. Lost of lots of function from previous Guest Manager at configuration. Support is NOT 24/7. I will definitely go back to Open Table, even though it’s not a good system. Only 4 review that is shown while 24 rating out there. I don’t understand why it worth 4.1 out of 5. There is nothing worst, but worse.

Garbage

They took away all the info, limited the app to be something developed by 5 years old kids! And worse at all they force you to make this transition by canceling your regular yelp reservation account. What a joke

Switched us and now its useless

Yelp switched our business account from yelp reservations to yelp guest manager. The app is so broken, that we cant even enter new reservations. All inquiries to their help lines have resulted in useless fixes that dont address our problems. We have switched to a more reliable reservation system, we dont want to be guinea pigs for an app thats apparently still in development. We paid for an unfinished app 🙄
