Very limited, doesn’t save your practice
Very limited access for free users. Made a whole session, adding segments and intervals, and it wasn’t saved for my next session. Does saving the session segments have to be an upgraded service? Not proving worth the upgrade so far
Cant save anything on the free version anymore
I really liked it. I was using the free version for a few years as a timer. It was cool that it tracked my number of sessions too. Then one day it erased everything. I reset it, but each time I got back on the app it’s gone, and I have to customize it all over again.
Easy to use.
All the bells no whistles! Great
Disappointed: From Five Stars to One
I was singing the praises of this app a year ago, but I’m disappointed now. It’s no longer working reliably (the sounds fail to occur about half the time), and the developer’s app support link and website are both expired. I have no way to contact anyone about my problems — despite being on a subscription plan. Needless to say, I’ll be canceling the subscription plan shortly.
Why is it so hard to find a well-made yoga app for personal practice that is being maintained? Ugh.
Glowing review from a year ago below.

This app is the best iOS yoga timer available. There’s really nothing that comes close to it. All yoga timers seem to fall into one of two categories: either (1) they’re terribly designed and amateurish to the point of being unusable; or (2) they’re part of an expensive subscription that has all sorts of bells and whistles, like video yoga classes, that I don’t want.
By contrast, Namaste is clean, smart, and simple — without being too simple. It’s excellent software. I was reluctant to pay for the $10 annual subscription, but I’m glad I did. That’s a reasonable price to support high-quality software that I use regularly.

Great timer!
This app is easy to use, as promised! The developer, Bart, is super responsive. I had a question, and he responded within hours, on a Saturday no less, with detailed instructions and screen shots. A lovely addition to my yin practice.
Hands down the best timer out there for yoga !
Namaste for Yoga (NFY) is a dedicated interval timer for yoga practitioners. It allows you to create as many practice sessions as you like each one composed of a limitless series of segments, one for each posture. A segment is composed of 3 phases - time before (posture preparation), posture (hold time), and time after (recuperation). The start of each phase is signaled by a user-defined chime sound as well as a visual cue (so chimes can be silent as well if you prefer). An additional reminder chime can be set during the posture phase to signal regular intervals eg for intermediate posture changes or just to keep track for longer hold times. A segment can be repeated N times before going on to the next one. I mostly use the manual mode which pauses the timer at the beginning of each segment, but a continuation mode allows the timer to progress automatically through the segments. What makes NFY stand out is its clean and discreet interface with a beautiful library of Tibetan bowl chime sounds that will enhance - and not distract from - your yoga practice. Everything about NFY is well thought out and easy to use.
I purchased an ENSO Pearl timer for my daughter two years ago and it is probably the best old school timer out there for yoga and meditation. However, it can only store 3 different sessions, is arduous to setup and modify, is made of cheap plastic, and worst of all…it costs almost 100 USD ! ENSO Pearl is good, but NFY is the bee’s knees and surpasses the ENSO timer in flexibility and ergonomy for a fraction of the cost (if not for free).
Moreover, NFY has the potential to become a great tool for yoga teachers. Imagine being able to create and export practice sessions for your students ! Although this is not currently possible, I’m sure that it will be available in a future version not too far down the road.
In conclusion, if you are looking for a timer for your yoga practice, look no further - Namaste for Yoga is for you.
