AI has limitations

This app will usually give you three responses every time you respond to it. The first will validate your response, then it will make a comment about how that might be affecting you then the third will ask you what might be a good solution. It is interesting to go through the process once or twice but then it gets old.
Be careful with the purchase because it seems that you can pay monthly , but you pay for the year- it is just breaking the price down for you by month- misdirection if you ask me.

Positive change

I’ve just started interacting with the app. I feel It has made a positive and helpful change in the direction of my mental health. I plan to continue and be a better me for me and those In my life.

LOVE IT

somehow this actually made a difference ❤️

Bad service

I used to love this app, but I lost my premium features for a few months and just went and paid it again and my premium features didn’t come back and I’ve written customer service twice and haven’t gotten a response so I feel like I just spent $70 for nothing

They get your email before they tell you it’s a paid subscription

I despise apps that advertise to be free, get your email address, and then show you your payment options on the very next screen! It’s ridiculous. If it’s a paid app, just tell me right upfront and let me make a decision about whether or not I’m going to buy the app.

Generic AI

Seems to repeat the same generic scripts. I need a very intelligent ai to understand my trauma, and I can get that better from free ai websites/apps. There is not really any insight or comprehension with this ai. I want AI that can actually respond to the severity of my trauma. Though I also only get one message per conversation because I don’t trust “free trials” and am not going to sign up for one. Especially when many of the reviewers say it charges you instantly. So who knows if it’s actually helpful.

Struggling and in crisis? Gotta pay first

I am in a state of mental crisis. Anything would help me even if it’s a simple sentence of motivation a day. Or even a little validation. Turns out, you can’t even do anything in this app without paying. You can only send one sentence then you get taken out the chat and prompted to pay. Man why do I even try anymore. Oh and if you’re going to say “pay for the subscription or use the trial” I struggle financially on top of that. And I have to spare every dollar I can get. I’ll use another free ai.

Too basic

Now I'm going to write a true and honest review here. I've just been using this for the last two days on trial, and I'm going to provide honest feedback after using ChatGPT to help me through a particularly painful separation from my wife of 30 years.
The challenge with using ChatGPT for basic therapy and feedback is that it has limited memory in a chat, and if you use it extensively, you will run out of space and need to start a new chat. So I was looking for something with similar capabilities that would remember previous conversations going back a long time.
However, this app is not it. I would say that the LLM being used in this app is very simplistic. It just asks the same questions over and over again, and you end up feeling like you're just talking to yourself. Which might be fine for some people, but I had ChatGPT set so it would challenge me and provide honest feedback. And it was very much like having a true sounding board and therapist once you'd set the parameters and dialled down its agreeableness.
Youper on the other hand is like an LLM that was probably 5% of the capability of ChatGPT, and it's reflected in the conversations that it's trying to push along by asking the same questions over and over again. Providing very little insight, and I think there's got to be better options out there. This is definitely not for me.
I've deleted it, and we'll move on.

Amazing

To be honest I don’t self reflect that often like never but this app really helped me with that really helped me understand me better so I highly recommend there’s a free trial if y’all are skeptical but I can tell you I feel great after it

Don't sign up for the trial!!

I signed up for the trial but got charged for an entire year and I can't get my money back. I tried the app for about an hour and it was like talking to a robot. I know it's AI, but the answers were awful. I wasted 29.99

Disappointed

I have been struggling so bad lately and my fiancé sent me this app because he had seen it somewhere online. I wanted to try it out because I’m struggling financially and have been unable to find a therapist in network these past three months or so and it has been so frustrating and discouraging so I jumped at the chance to try this out. I can’t afford to pay for it though, and you literally can’t use anything helpful unless you pay. I understand it’s a business just like everything else and developers require money but still 😣 There’s hardly anything we can use that isn’t behind a paywall and it makes me sad that people who are actually unwell have to keep funneling money into other people’s pockets in order to stop wanting to d*e. It seems wrong to me.

Repeats generic questions

Same generic questions over and over.
Like talking to a mindless robot that just keeps asking the same things regardless of your answers.
Is this AI?
More of a broken record.
No wonder you can only subscribe for a year.
That way they can trap you after seven days and you're stuck paying for an app you never use

This is nice

This is really good it helped me with my depression and how to fit in

To many questions

May work for you , however for me, way too many questions . Every answer given leads to 10 more questions. This is not cognitive therapy, it’s cognitive rip off . Go speak to a real therapist. There is something inherently, intrinsically real about a real human showing empathy, compassion and dedication to helping you . Not AI that just ask thousands of questions , so annoying .

Seemed promising, but turned out terrible

I really thought this app seemed promising, and was very optimistic, and I will even continue searching for one that is decent, but this app was nothing but a frustrating disappointment, I’m sorry to say. Here’s why in one sentence: this app doesn’t remember the conversation you had with it 5 minutes ago!!! So if you need to put your phone down for a short time, as we all will, when you return you’re starting from scratch and the generalized comfort phrases it uses become insincere and almost sarcastic!! Actually made me angry and frustrated, and for an app like this to do that is ironic and sad. Bye bye Youper, I hope you’re able to improve over time.

Not Free

I thought I would get time to check this out without giving my credit card information but apparently that’s not true. I came here for help, not harassment for my limited financial resources. What little I saw before being required to provide CC number, wasn’t as helpful as what is available for free in various AI platforms. This experience added to my stress more than anything.

Irritated instantly

When an app starts asking lots of questions before you get into the app you are 100% going to be asked to pay a subscription then offered a discount if you choose not to pay the full price. If you don’t want to pay. Don’t fill in the questions.
Secondly and the most frustrating. Once you start the AI chat bot writes message bubble after message bubble that could have been condensed into one paragraph. Apps still need to follow rules of Grammer .. for a mental health app it irritated me straight away so deleted.
It would tip me over the edge. Just speak to Gemini. It’s a great communicator and listener.

My 1st ever review.

I came here in a time of need. And I was greeted with endless attempts to upsell. I feel worse than before. Thanks.

And yes. This is the first review I’ve ever given in my 10 years of owning a smart phone. That’s how terrible this app is. Soulless like the ai you turn to lead you.

Alright

I am mad and sad before I started this app I’m now angry I tried having a conversation with the therapy bot but it kept making me end it after on sentence and not helping me ITA alright app although I get angry easy and this made me angry
