Beef patty

Should read Lamb Steak didn’t know how to change it.
What happened to my Lunch? Fetta and veggies?spinach, lemon Juice tomato?
I also have to be careful of seeds, as I have Diverticulitis flare ups.

Extremely tedious to log food, lacking compared to other tracking apps, and over gamified.

The knowledge base is great, but the app is severely lacking in multiple areas.

Compared to other food logging apps in the field, such as Cronometer, this app pales in regard to logging your data.

The process of saving meals, foods, and finding them again is tedious.

The search function for your saved foods does not work.

The UI is sluggish and has too much emphasis on gamifying the process.

Logging your diet is a chore with this app, and I imagine a lot will simply give up due to the frustration of it.

After one week of tracking I won’t be logging any more data.

Old app was great. Don’t waste your money on this one.

I resubscribed to Zoe and am
now locked in for a year to an app that provides very little that’s helpful.

Gaps and bugs

Great when it works but frustrating bugs where ingredients are not added and you have to re-do multiple times. Sadly, too, Zoe does not highlight sodium content so I won’t renew my membership as this is a huge gap. The gamification is annoying, I feel like I’m being treated as a child.

Zoe Founders—Please READ reviews since APP updates

Loved previous “classic” Zoe App. New updates, including a gamified jumping bean, a cumbersome and frustrating. While grocery shopping, scanning product barcodes and make informed choices based on my gut test results used to be easy. Simple swaps. No longer without adding to daily log. The original app recipe creation was amazing.

Please read reviews since app updates. I’m not the only dedicated Zoe follower that’s extremely frustrated.

Best part of my day Heath wise

So glad I stumbled across the Zoe podcast in 2023. I got the gut health test and and the app. This new and improved app makes mindful eating a breeze! And I feel better because I’m eating better.

Works very very well

Says exactly what it does very helpful and great information on different foods.

I’m assuming Sometimes products may have changed which makes scans of foods a couple grams off but this isn’t a major issue at all.

Hate the new app

I do not need a stupid cartoon character to motivate me. I have been genuinely interested in and committed to the science of the microbiome since I did the Zoe test kit and find this infantilising, patronising and genuinely off-putting. I updated the app looking for a new recipe idea - I now cannot get out of this ridiculous Ziggy thing trying to get me to log a meal. I just paid £25 Zoe membership - for this????

Unusable and demeaning interface

I was a Zoe member and advocate for several years and found the app motivating, clear and helpful. I recommended it to about a dozen of my friends and even bought a couple of people memberships because I thought it was so good. That is until the recent update. Now I can’t even log a snack without being lectured by a dancing bean about mindful eating. The screen is cluttered with non-optional bean-journey maps I am not interested in that can not be dismissed. Instead of being able to see the impact of an ingredient on a meal or a meal on a day, I just get random numbers of beans flying across the screen. I am locked into paying for a two year contract for an app that is no longer useable. For the sake of future users, I hope the developers at Zoe will rethink their approach. I’ll be deleting the app evening though I’ll still be paying for it well into next year. Buyer beware.

Avoid unless you want to continue subscription fees for the next four years

Total scam, they continue to renew your subscription without asking. You then can’t get out of it for another two years

Has potential

I have been using the app for about three days. The scan food element is useful but users need to be aware to take everything with a pinch of salt. I recently scanned an M&S nutrition pot and the summary told me about the negative sides of low fat yogurt. The ingredients were actually natural yogurt. Please add a function to correct the feedback.

Very buggy and difficult to use app

UPDATE2. I have asked for a human and still no response. UPDATE: contacting support is very difficult. I’ve emailed them sbd no reply for a week. The app is unusable and support won’t extend my free trial. Don’t buy this garbage app. Used it a year ago and tried again and it’s even worse. Missing meals, awful messaging system, poor image recognition. It’s like the app have never had quality control or testing.

Accountability

To be accountable and supported in my new journey to better and more consistent gut health is a great support. I’m still missing out the odd unhealthy snack but honesty is prevailing and it’s helping me to make the right choices in each passing craving thank you to whoever put this together

Mixed review

Fantastic information and advice given. I really loved been taken away from prioritising calories. BUT logging food is so frustrating - it’s like you’re adding a brand new product every time, even if it’s something you use everyday. Harder to log that MFP

Logging difficulty

I love most everything about this app. Finding the daily log is difficult. I’m still learning my way around the changes which is difficult. Not so logical.

It is really a bad client service- you cannot cancel subscription

I have been trying to cancel my subscription since February 2026. Despite emailing the company to request cancellation, my subscription was never cancelled and I have continued to be charged. Their response was that cancellation was not possible because of a one-year commitment, even though I had clearly asked to cancel months ago. This has been extremely frustrating, and I am still trying to obtain a refund for the charges that continued after my cancellation request. I would not recommend this service based on my experience with their customer support and cancellation process.

Terrible unusable update

For the love of god why have you made the app so complicated? It used to be easy to log meals and also go back and add missed meals. Absolutely don’t need the time-wasting childish patronising animations. It’s nigh on impossible to edit “today” meals, adding ingredients doesn’t even work anymore. It’s ruined the experience. Will cancel and delete if you don’t do something… and fast!

Good but needs work

I’m enjoying finding out what’s in my food, how it can help or harm my efforts to feed myself properly. However, Zoe needs to spend more of the cash that it’s raking in on the app. One: it’s been broken for weeks, so that often I have to type in my additional ingredients twice or restart the app to do so. Also do ensure that the ratings make sense (Jobbie peanut butter with sugar and salt added is rated higher than organic Biona?!?). And you should add more natural foods, especially since you’re always going on about them: edible mallow, sculpit, wild rocket (diff. species from garden rocket), buckwheat greens, fenugreek greens, wild fennel greens…to name a few. Finally, stop telling us this or that food is “high risk.” Just give us the numbers, please. : )

It used it be better

These past couple of updates have made the app less than ideal. I can no longer edit ingredients by typing them in and it no longer shows me the overall health impact of each meal.

New app update is terrible

The new app update is terrible - the app keeps closing down randomly. Old features like suggestions to improve meals are blank - please reverse everything back to as it was before the update.
