About

Dakshin Driver

Dakshin Driver is the app our delivery drivers use to run the day. It is built for one job — getting the day's meal boxes to the right doors and recording what happened at each one. THE DAY, IN ORDER Open the app and today's route is already there: the stops assigned to you, sequenced for the drive rather than the order they were ordered in. One stop is shown large as your next door, with the rest queued behind it. If traffic makes a later stop the sensible one, tap it and move it up. Every stop carries what you need at the door and nothing else — the name, the address, the delivery note the customer left, and how many boxes are going in. NAVIGATION THAT HANDS OFF CLEANLY One tap sends the address to Google Maps or Apple Maps and comes straight back. There is also a route map showing the whole run drawn along the real roads, so you can see the shape of the day before you start it. PROOF AT EVERY DOOR Marking a stop delivered takes a photo. It is not optional, and it is the thing that settles a question weeks later about whether a box arrived. The location is recorded with it, at the moment you tap, so the kitchen can confirm where it was left. If a stop cannot be completed, record why — nobody home, gate locked, wrong address — and the kitchen sees it immediately. Changed your mind at the curb? Undo it and the stop goes back on the route. IT KEEPS WORKING WITHOUT SIGNAL Underground parkades and apartment corridors lose signal, and the delivery still has to be recorded. Deliveries, failures and photos are saved on the phone and sent the moment a connection comes back. You never wait at a door for a spinner, and nothing is lost if the app is closed in between. A counter shows what is still waiting to go. WHAT YOU EARNED Your own pay summary for the period, worked out the same way the kitchen works it out — per stop, per day, per hour, or salaried — so the number in your pocket and the number on their books are the same number. WHO THIS IS FOR Dakshin Driver is for drivers delivering for Dakshin Foods in Metro Vancouver. Accounts are issued by the kitchen; there is no public sign-up.
