Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Brex at 4.8 against Spaces's 3.4. Brex also leads on review sentiment (44% vs 7%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Spaces's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Brex holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Brex has 8.8K ratings behind it against 118, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 7% of Spaces's written reviews are positive against 44% of Brex's.
Spaces ships an update fortnightly, Brex weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
