Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Deckfall at 100% against Fort Sumter's 53%. Deckfall also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 8 months) and price ($1.99 vs $4.99). Fort Sumter's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (35 vs 1). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Fort Sumter holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fort Sumter has 35 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Fort Sumter's written reviews are positive against 100% of Deckfall's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Fort Sumter ships an update every 8 months, Deckfall every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
