Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: NeoTaste at weekly against itsu rewards's every 2 months. NeoTaste also leads on review sentiment (41% vs 17%) and ratings volume (67 vs 2). itsu rewards's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
itsu rewards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NeoTaste has 67 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of NeoTaste's written reviews are positive against 17% of itsu rewards's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
NeoTaste ships an update weekly, itsu rewards every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
