Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Bartesian at 5.0 against Barsys AI's 4.3. Bartesian also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 256). Barsys AI's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 42%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Bartesian holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bartesian has 1.3K ratings behind it against 256, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Bartesian's written reviews are positive against 64% of Barsys AI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Bartesian ships an update every 4 weeks, Barsys AI every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
