MitoREMOTE is the remote control for your Mito Red Light panels: MitoPRO X and MitoADAPT. Pick a mode, set your time and brightness, and start. Your panel switches off on its own when the timer ends. WHAT YOU CAN DO: - Connects on its own: all you need to do is enable bluetooth on your panel, hold your iPhone near it, and the app will find it. - Every mode, one tap away: numbered modes with a swatch showing each mode's light mix. (Turn on Details to see the wavelengths.) - Time and brightness: tap the minutes to type a number, or use plus and minus. Separate red and near-infrared sliders on panels that support them. - Timed sessions: a clear countdown, Pause and Resume, and a summary of time, intensity and mode when each session ends. - All your panels in one app: add every panel in your home, name them, and switch between them. - Programs on MitoADAPT: Gradual Sunrise, Gradual Sunset and Red/NIR intervals. - Learn: what each wavelength is for, from 590 nm to 850 nm. - Three looks: Light, Dark and Mito themed, or match your iPhone. Works with MitoPRO X and MitoADAPT panels over Bluetooth. Requires iOS 15.6 or later. Disclaimer: Please put on protective eyewear before you start. Near-infrared light is invisible.

No tracking. THE SCIENCE BEHIND RED LIGHT Retinal cells need energy to function. Their mitochondria produce ATP - the fuel that powers cellular activity - and mitochondrial function can decline with age. Research into red light therapy, including a 2021 UCL study published in Scientific Reports, has explored how controlled exposure to deep red light at 670 nm may support retinal energy processes and colour contrast sensitivity. A screen is not the same as the light source used in that research. Screens emit a broader spectrum, typically peaking around 620–640 nm, and cannot reproduce a precise 670 nm exposure. Display settings do not make them equivalent to research equipment. The study’s findings do not establish that this app improves vision or increases ATP. Use the app for a mindful pause and to learn about red light research - not as an eye treatment. It is for wellness and education, is not a medical device, and does not replace advice from an eye-care professional. Set aside three minutes. Pause, unwind, and make room to refocus. Red Light For Your Eyes also leads on ratings volume (42 vs 5) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks). MitoRedLight's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

MitoRedLight holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Red Light For Your Eyes has 42 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of MitoRedLight's written reviews are positive against 100% of Red Light For Your Eyes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

MitoRedLight ships an update every 5 weeks, Red Light For Your Eyes every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
