Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: Emburse Professional at 13K against WatchGuard AuthPoint's 44. Emburse Professional also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). WatchGuard AuthPoint's advantage is review sentiment (53% vs 37%) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Emburse Professional holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Emburse Professional has 13K ratings behind it against 44, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Emburse Professional's written reviews are positive against 53% of WatchGuard AuthPoint's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Emburse Professional ships an update monthly, WatchGuard AuthPoint every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
