Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
National Grid holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: National Grid has 14K ratings behind it against 99, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 23% of National Grid's written reviews are positive against 25% of Notify NYC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
National Grid ships an update every 6 weeks, Notify NYC every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
