  • Addictive game

I've been playing this game for a while now and owe the team this review. The game is so addictive, I can't stop playing it. There is so much to do: level characters, cadet challenges, arena battles, gauntlet, voyages, events, complete episodes, fleet rewards and the list goes on. it's never boring. You don't have to spend a penny if you don't want to and still experience everything. There are constant updates and I hope they'll never slow down. No game is perfect and there are things I'd like to see change (more crew slots, a simpler way to sort through characters etc) but overall this is one of the best app games I've ever played. So sign up, find a great fleet in-game and start leveling those characters. Thank you for this game!!!

  • Fun, but has some downsides

The developers obviously love Star Trek, since they’ve done a great job with character and plot details. Also, the game looks really great. I enjoy playing it and don’t really get bored with it. However... once you’ve played for a bit, it becomes obvious that you’ll end up having to spend some money in order to progress. For me, I can still get a satisfying experience only having to pay for the monthly dilithium pack, which is currently under $4. Still, I can see that this minimum purchase may soon not keep me at a level where I feel like I can get my money’s worth from the game. If you’re someone who absolutely refuses to pay anything for a mobile game, you’ll find yourself grinding the same levels for a long time in order to get anywhere.

  • Fun Star Trek game (grinder)

Longtime player, probably long time before I feel done with this one. I haven’t read ANY other reviews of this game, I came straight from a link within the game.
There’s plenty of things to do in the game, depending on how much time you want to spend grinding a few tasks. Probably feels a little repetitive for some people but for me it works because you actually are getting a fair amount of resources for tasks that only take a couple minutes each day.
You can definitely play this game without dropping a ton of $$ but you are best off at least purchasing the monthly ‘gem’ thing for around four dollars so you can purchase a couple things that can only be gotten with ‘gems’
There’s some PvP and some space battles and weekly events where you can pick up some extra crew members.
Bottom line, I really like this game, I play daily and it’s at least worth a try if you like Star Trek and/or strategy.

  • Patience is Key if you’re F2P

I’m a long time fan of Star Trek - when I first downloaded this game (a few days after initial launch) I discovered the paywall and decided I’ll play as a free player only. I didn’t expect much besides collecting some lower grade cards and maybe having some fun as long as it lasted. The “Star Trek” association drew me in. The daily awards give out some good things including a super rare card, in the coming months more additions to the game were introduced allowing people like me (playing free) to slowly collect upper tier (super rare and legendary) cards. Other additions like voyages give one the ability to collect more pieces like chronitons so you can run more missions. There’s a strong player community and forum where players get tips on how to play. Customer support is responsive. I’ve never needed to contact them but depending on your situation I’ve heard they can be great or not so great. It depends. Anyway, if you’re willing to put in the time, you don’t need to spend a penny to build a strong crew. I’ve done it. You just need to have patience.

  • 4 stars and still rising

This is awesome. There’s drama, adventure, I feel crazy when I’m like that’s blah blah blah from TNG and he was leader of Blah blah blah. I only have 1 stars off because I personally love the game and am a big fan of Star Trek but the space battles are a little too simple.

I wish there was some way of interacting with your ship like steering or aiming.

It’s no big dealAnd then the explosion at the end is just pieces breaking apart. I wish that it was more dramatic.

Just to make the game more interesting I feel like there should be more images for the options in the campaign

Also I wish that you could interact with planets and space stations

Finally I wish I could battle with characters like a fps or tps and team up on battles with friends instead of only one on one.

I do have a lot of complaints but compared to the greatness that is timelines there’s not much. Great job disruptor beam and keep up the good work. I’m exited about your next games (preferably one where your a officer making your way up the ranks up to captain and it’s first person and you can free roam your ship, other ships planets and space stations

  • Pay for nostalgia

This game is a not so subtly disguised video gambling game. All games want to make money. That’s the goal. But because Star Trek has always had this undercurrent of altruism, it’s difficult to associate it with something set out to capitalize on dopaminergic responses.

As with Pokémon, this game tickles the part of the brain that wants to gamble and collect them all and keep playing. At least with Pokémon Go they give you options to earn some virtual money and the game is still enjoyable without having to pay. Sure, some people say they can play without paying. That takes patience - like the willingness to sift through the discount CDs in a dollar store. And it’s not fun. You are looking at graphics of fake parts. They don’t even move! A game for a console costs between $10-$60. People spend a LOT more on this game in order to have play time and in order to succeed at competitions.

You will win by not winning. People who “win” at this game have spent a lot of money. What will it mean in the greater scheme of a person’s life when their epitaph reads something like, “They ranked #1 in the Gauntlet in Star Trek Timelines”?

  • The pay wall

I wanted to like it. I tried really hard. I loved the obscure characters and found many of the missions that merged storylines from multiple shows to be very compelling, but the problem is the money. There is a difference between pay to win and pay to play. This game jumps over the line and keeps running. I’ll admit I didn’t actually pay for anything yet. I was still fairly new and didn’t want to spend money on something until I really understood what I was buying. But I never completed a voyage because I didn’t have dilithium. I basically ran out of away missions because I didn’t have dilithium. I never completed my daily missions because I didn’t have dilithium. I only got about three decent stat characters because I didn’t have dilithium. And the nail in the coffin for me was that I was capped at 90 characters when this game has over 650 at the time. Only without buying dilithium of course. I think this game needs some competition. Maybe then it could be more accessible and friendlier to free to play players.

  • Great Game!

I really like this game! There are lots of things to do: space battles, missions, voyages, event challenges... I also think there are a great variety of crew members and gear cards- and the upgrading system is both achievable and easy to understand.

I think most of the bad reviews are from players that have not been playing very long... After two days, the gameplay gets a lot easier as you upgrade your crew and earn free crew cards through achievements. Maybe a full crew should be given out free at the start? I know I was a bit bummed that I had to wait a few days for a second medical crew card to be able to send my crew on a voyage...

I would love to see more events, chapters, and characters- just more of everything :)

  • Love the game but here are a few ideas

First of great game been playing on multiple devices since it was released and second off for events it would be cool if you can spend some credits, honor, merits to buy ranks or even some dilituim to buy all the ranks without earning event points just the rank and it’s rewards and I’m talking about solo rewards but with credits you can spend like 20 thousand to buy a couple ranks of like maybe for a event that’s happyining right now it would get you to teir five or maybe ten and then either merits or honors can get you further and if you spend a couple hundred dilituim you can get the entire rewards which it would be a cool idea but maybe you can think about and maybe run a pull somewhere and ask the community what they think about it but it would be cool if you could by ranks for ingame cash or maybe real money

  • Disruptor Beam = Hit Garbage

Game is alright and easy as far as gameplay. Truly being successful is a completely different story. If you want to compete in events and any other game mode and do well you MUST spend money and a lot of it. I’ve spent more than I’d like to say and still struggle to get the top 1k in events to get the legendary characters in a weekly basis. They keep making the newer characters stronger and slowly phasing the old ones out to mediocrity.

Don’t get me started on there trash that is customer service. They stole from 1000’s of players after the 4 July 2018 debacle. They were mistakenly giving out free currency instead of selling characters with that currency. People went to it in droves to get the currency to buy character packs. They took back everything and more from players!!! They advertise stuff you might or might not get to get you to spend more $$$. If you make an error or mistake it’s tough luck on your part, there general response is there is nothing they can do. But if they mess up they for sure will do something. Customer Service rude.

I only play this game because I have so much money in it at this point. Don’t waste your time or money on this crap!!!
