Amazing value and app
Highly recommend this app! I’ve told my friends and family about it, everyone’s loving the surprise bags! It’s such a great way to save food and for cheap, absolutely amazing !

What else can a broke college student ask for? Great value AND helping the environment 🤯🫶🫶🫶🫶 much love guys. I just discovered this app recently, my area only has one store opting in so far but I think in a few years this would rly catch on in regional ‘Straya.

A Waste Of Time And Money
I have tried this app several times in various European cities while traveling on business. There are a lot more places that participate in the app in Europe than the U.S. The concept is great, and I wish it would work. The first time I tried it was in Frankfurt at an Indian restaurant. I love Indian food, and the idea of getting a variety of Indian dishes for 5€ was certainly enticing. When I showed up at pickup time I had to wait a half an hour before I was given a very small takeout container. When I got back to my hotel and opened it there was nothing but plain, white rice inside. Seriously, 5€ for a cup of rice. At a bakery in Rome that offers lots of croissants and amazing desserts I was given two pieces of plain focaccia and 4 white rolls, all of which were so hard you couldn’t chip them with a chisel. Completely inedible. In Paris at a bakery with beautiful eclairs, cakes and tarts I was given a tiny container of salad, another container of some sort of apple muesli mush, and some weird meatball and potato concoction. The description of the bag was a variety of salty and sweet baked goods. I give up. It’s always a waste of time and money. The stuff they give me goes straight into the trash. The employees in all of the businesses treat you like you’re stealing from them when you pick up your bag.

Unmonitored?
Since I started using the app a few months ago, I’ve realized that the majority of multi-cultural food that I pickup doesn’t necessarily fall under Too Good To Go’s motto of rescuing food at a discounted price—it’s really just them selling their food at the same price they sell it for in stores, if not more because they try to portion their items a little smaller than usual since they want to get more purchases out of it and they misrepresent that they’re selling it at a “cheaper” price. A perfect example would be that I’ve picked up food that the place lists as $30 worth of food for the price of $5.99. When I show up it’s a small, almost toddler sized entree. I look at their menu on the screen and realize they’re just selling it for the same price as through the app ($5.99). Just one of the many instances that you realize restaurants are just utilizing the app for more exposure and end of day sales, but nothing supporting the motto of rescuing food at a discounted price. This has been the majority of places I’ve ordered through. There needs to be way more feedback allowed in the app or more vetting done by this developer for people who want to sell on this platform.

Very good value and helps eliminate food waste.
The app is so easy to navigate, I was introduced to it by friends and now am hooked. Will be using it often to score bargains, also help distant family members who are doing it hard with some goodies I get from this awesome app.
Please let me hide stores
I’ll start by saying I love the concept and use the app. I’d love to use it more.
The problem is that my list is clogged up with offers that I’m never going to purchase and I get sick and tired of scrolling through them.
Please, please, please build functionality so I can hide certain offers and avoid the distraction. Thanks!

R.I.P. to what it used to be
Too Good To Go is passed its shelf life. Perhaps they can get someone to pay full price for a stale start-up just as they seem to expect their users to pay full price (or even more!) for daily discards. It’s a shame too because it wasn’t always like that. You used to get what was advertised, namely an assortment of left overs for 1/3rd the price. You couldn’t control what you got, but if you found a quality restaurant you could be pretty confident that you’d enjoy it. But then, everything except the price started shrinking. And not by just a little but literally getting cut in half or thirds. I think it’s culminated in my latest (and last) experience. I just bought a bag advertised as $15 worth of food for $4.99. Went to pick it up. It contained a single slice of day old coffee cake. Let’s check the menu price… $4.95! While this has been the worst I’ve seen, not by much. My last three experiences at three different restaurants (all of which I had purchased bags from before) were similar disappointments. The worst part about it, I honestly do not know whether I should blame the restaurants or Too Good To Go. I’ll probably play it safe and just avoid all of the above in the future.

Becoming discening
After 40 transactions, you may get your antennae up for the radar of a $5.99 meal from a mom and pop takeout business in a really busy area. It could be amazing but it could be quite disappointing, equivalent to the lunch special but without the best items and a huge serving of the cheapest. This is the roller coaster you choose that is TGTG. With over 40 purchases I've had disappointing sides from a seller named after our great state on the West Coast. I've had disappointing pastries from a corporate coffee house. From a small East Coast Pizza House that moved to Pasadena on the West Coast I've had five amazing slices for $5.99 but when I got it again months later, it was only three slices for the same price. Like FGump says, you never know what you're gonna get. This is TGTG. Still worth it. Best if you are in a crowded area. After a few runs you too will get TGTG antannae feelers but are still subject to getting amazing tacos and empanadas one day and repeating the order the next day to find a box filled with four slices of amazing wedding cake from the very same restaurant (in North Hollywood California)

Great concept, amazing value, one feature request
I use this app all the time.
I’ve looked at some reviews complaining that sometimes shops don’t have their food or that they don’t get what they ordered. While these are valid points, they are not the usual experience. I ordered hundreds of bags over a year, only twice I got to a place that was closed, 2-3 times the shop didn’t have the bag (it was a mistake in the system) and maybe another 2-3 times the bag was cancelled before I collected it or the collection time has changed. In terms of being satisfied with what you are going to get, as long as you don’t have any allergies and you are not picky about your food, you can follow the ratings system. If you are picky, you can still use it, but buy only from vendors that always give you the same thing. E.g. most sushi places will give you sushi, Starbucks split their food and cakes into separate offerings etc.
If I could wish for one feature, it would be the ability to order my lists (including favourites) by start and end time of collection. I know I can filter on it, but sometimes I would like to quickly see what I can get now vs. what I can get if I wait a bit. It might not be important for a casual user, but when someone schedules their lunches based on TGTG, it is handy.
