Scam and gives you old food

I was given pizza that looks like something I’ve never seen before and this happened everytime I used this app I’ve had leftover pizza many times before and I tell you that it never looks like this after the next day as this app claims it’s from the next day even though it looks like a week old pizza left in the fridge the crust is rock solid and the cheese is so dry and looks translucent it absolutely disgusting 🤢

Great if you like pizza and baked goods

What a great concept! I love that I get food that is discounted, and that the food doesn’t go to waste as it would otherwise. What’s important to know is that the options lean towards bakeries, coffee, shops, and pizza places, which is understandable as these are the places that have to prepare food in advance for the day. Your pick up time might be in the middle of the day, but most often I see pick up times that are quite late when the restaurant is about to close. It all makes sense given that you’re saving food that would otherwise be sold that day, but if you eat and go to sleep really early, this might not be for you. Also, it’s helpful if you are an adventurous eater or like most things, as you have no control over what you are served given that you are rescuing food. For example, I found out that there’s a pizza place near us that has quite a few items with jalapeños on them. I usually don’t order spicy things, but they’ve been just mild enough that I’ve been able to enjoy them anyway. Also, if you have dietary restrictions, this is definitely not for you. Overall, I think it’s great. It gives me a quick, easy, inexpensive meal on nights when I work late or have commitments in the evening that keep me out late and I don’t feel like cooking after that.

I did not receive a bag and got a voucher for half the price as a redund

I made my first purchase on the app to a 7-11 in my city and when I went to pick up the bag the cashier didn’t have a clue what I was talking about, he was no help, I contacted the app to let them know explained 3 times via many emails. I paid $4.47 and they thought sending me a voucher for $2.29 was an acceptable refund on something I did not receive. Would like my money back and will be deleting the app.

It won’t take my payment card

This worked great for me. Then it just didn’t. I hope the bug is fixed soon.

I also tried to reach out but your support has no forms as promised. Therefore there is no way to get support which is disappointing

Scam Scam Scam

Don't bother. Unless you're desperate to eat discarded garbage.

False advertising

Advertising and selling for commerce not available or participating. No refund available

Too bad to take home

I ordered from the Timmies with the best rating. The back of restaurant staff were untrained on TGTG, and I was given a box of 7 hideous-looking over-handled items, from donuts with evaporated toppings to one danish. I asked how 7 items could possibly be worth the estimated $15 value, and was told each item is rung in individually. I complained and am hopefully getting a refund.

If you have a negative experience, it will be removed when you delete the app.

Claims to fight food waste, & then wastes food anyway

It doesn’t say anywhere in the app description in the App Store that this app will charge you even if you receive nothing. If you miss the time window to pick up your “wasted” food, the app should refund your money. What it actually does is it charges you the $$$, & then says “the store/restaurant still has to throw out the food”… so the question becomes: what is the point? It’s not to stop food waste, cuz they waste the food even if they take your $$$… so the truth is the app just wants to keep your money. I paid $$$, yet I received no good(s) or service of any kind for my cash… “Reserving” food until it gets thrown out is NOT a service, despite what the app developers/owners might claim… Punishing people for not complying with your demands is not a way to run a business.
It just felt like a real scam to me.

Total Scam

Absolutely pathetic and misleading. I’ve now placed two orders. The first I paid approx $5 for 4 old slices of pizza that made me sick the next day. Today, I thought I would give it one more try - Found one of their partners claiming $18 of food for $5.99. Interesting - I tried it.. 4 nugget sized pieces of chicken on fried rice with maybe 7 pieces of vegetables. Wow. The concept behind this app is excellent - the execution of it is a complete scam. I overpaid for what I received. Mango Sushi & Chinese is the name of the restaurant. If I could give this app 0 stars I would

Timing is key but the quality of food and money savings is worth it!

This app saves both money and time! If you’re not a picky eater, but need to eat healthy at an affordable rate, this app is for you!
While there are tons of stores on this app with a variety of food, what makes this app so good is when you find the few that work for your daily schedule and diet.
These deals are generally later in the day (understandable), but for you that might include staying at the library an extra hour or hitting the gym right before or just enjoying the city a bit longer - which is probably what you came to nyc for. Include TGTG pickups at the right time and you can use it as a motivation to maximize your time in the city!
It’s also a perfect app for scheduling your meals and recording your diets. Research the stores a bit, test some things out, and begin to schedule your daily routine with the right food and the right stores (price will always be on your side).

The only ask I would have would be on the user experience. When it comes to filtering, I wish I could filter based on time. I would also love to have a personal page where I can keep tabs of my favorites instead of it just being one of the many generic lists. If you make it a more seamless search engine and personalized experience, hardly anyone can refuse the deals and quality of food.
