  • Dirty Subscription

I love the app and think it works well. It has been the only alarm that has been able to wake me up on time.

With that being said the 7 day subscription is dirty. Last weekend I decided to finally try out premium and would cancel on the seventh day. I come around to today to find a $43 receipt from Apple emailed to me. Panicked I tried to backtrack and cancel it.

That didn’t work and I was heavily disappointed. For them to charge over $40 dollars for a years worth of premium is outrageous without warning. I understand I should have remembered to cancel my 7 day subscription but when I applied to try the 7 day subscription there should have been a option for one month of premium. It only gave me an option for a years worth which seems pretty dirty as lots of people will forget to cancel and find an over $40 receipt sent to them.

Anyway, I am hoping my parents will help me pay this. Thanks for the extra year of premium I didn’t ask for in the first place.

My fault for not checking but it shouldn’t have been so dirty.

One more thing, when I tried canceling the subscription it said I had to cancel it 24 hours before the seventh day. Yet again quite sketchy in my opinion.

  • Started great but quickly changed

I tried the free version of this app and loved it so much I subscribed. I love the gradual wake up process. I also love that it tracks your sleep data and that you can add different preset information to track. However, too often the lately the alarm has not actually sounded causing me to oversleep. Also, the data tracking has not been working properly. It shows me awake for the majority of the night. My daughter and I both have the paid versions of this app and we are both experiencing the same issues. She has an iPhone XS and I have the XS Max. Whatever bugs are causing this need to be fixed or we will end our subscription or find something else.

  • Disappointing

I’ve been using this app for a while now, about a few months and it was great at first. I would set it on my nightstand and it would do its work! The data seemed a little wonky but I didn’t mind because I mostly used it for the sounds and alarm, as well as the 30 minute wake up feature. But for some reason, the alarm stopped working about a week ago. I turned on my ringer and made sure my sound was up, but I would almost wake up late some days because it didn’t go off at all! The clock was correct so it wasn’t that, and I’m not a particularly heavy sleeper so it would’ve woken me up if it DID go off. Just very disappointing indeed.

I’ve been pairing this with my built-in alarm app because I’ve discovered that I can really only use it for sleep sounds now. Very disappointing and will rate 5 stars if and when this issue gets fixed.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t download this app, I’m just saying that it might not be worth your time if you’re looking for a plethora of features that work. It’s not terrible but overall pretty mediocre if your main premise is an alarm that doesn’t even work. Still going to continue to use it as I enjoy some of the features that I can use.

  • Only use for the sleep sounds

Honestly I don’t like this app at all. I’m a heavy sleeper and have to set multiple alarms to get up, but it seems like ever since I’ve started using this app, it makes the alarms I have set on my clock app super quiet to where I’m constantly oversleeping and the alarm on this app isn’t enough to wake me up by itself.

The sleep tracking feature is pointless at best because it’ll say you’re asleep the second you put your phone down and that you’re in a deep sleep all night until you turn the tracker off. I use a separate sleep tracker that is a feature of my watch to actually track my sleep.

The only reason I haven’t deleted the app yet is because I have to fall asleep listening to something solid (without pitch, tone, etc.). Usually I’d use my fan, but in the interest of energy conservation and winter chills, I haven’t been using it. The “white noise” sleep sound is very similar to my fan and that is nice. The only thing is, is that the sleep sounds only play for 45 minutes before needing to be reset and sometimes I’ll wake up slightly because of the lack of white noise.

This app is one step above useless.

  • The alarm did not wake me up!

I feel so stupid. First I should not have used a new alarm knowing I have an appointment the next day. I set the alarm to ring between 10:30 and 11am. I remember waking up at about 8am to use the bathroom. Next thing I know I wake up by myself at 12:21pm (appointment was at 12). I look at the app refusing to believe I did not hear my alarm because I’m a light sleeper. This alarm apparently thinks I was asleep for just about 2 hours. I slept really late at about 4:30 and it says I woke up at about 6:30 so it decided I was up and didn’t need to be woken up. So the issue wasn’t me not hearing, it was the fact that the alarm did not ring!!! I should have read other reviews before downloading this, it’s definitely very unreliable. Sleep Cycle will give you all a good run for your money. So much for trying something new.

  • Great but I have a suggestion

I love this app. It always wakes me to my favorite song at the lightest point of my sleep cycle. I feel so much more refreshed almost every day. My one suggestion is to be able to add a “preset” alarm. I know the concept is for you to press when you start to sleep so it knows what to track, so being able to create a “preset alarm” with a time to wake up would simply allow you to tell Siri to start your “Tuesday alarm.” This would still adhere to you starting the process, but it would be much easier than manually changing the alarm time every night, as I have to get up different times everyday of the week.

  • Great App for Waking Up

There’s only two, okay maybe three, downsides to this app. 1) I can’t tell Siri to “turn on the Sleepzy alarm” which really isn’t a downside so much as an inconvenience for like one night where I was too tired to tap tap on my phone. 2) If I’ve had a sleepless night Sleepzy wakes me up close to the minimum time for the allowed range. I’m sure we can all agree when I get upset at getting up after sitting there frustrated I couldn’t sleep 30ish minutes before I would normally get up. Again, it’s a circumstantial thing. 3) I honestly forgot my 3rd most likely circumstantial problem with Sleepzy. Honestly though guys the App is pretty great, free or otherwise. The reason why I am not giving it the full five stars is not because it’s not a great app but because it doesn’t really stick out when compared to similar apps. It gets the job done for free, yes, but it doesn’t offer much in terms of uniqueness.

  • Good app but could be better

This app is a decent app for tracking sleep. I like that it starts out quiet and then gets louder over time so that it doesn’t scare you awake. Some things that are lacking in this app: 1) you can’t look at your sleep trends without a premium membership. Could we watch an add or 2 to see them instead? 2) say I set an early alarm and then decide that, after I wake up the first time that I set it for the wrong time and can sleep for about 30 min longer. There is no way to extend the time without snoozing for 10 min at a time. I wish there was a way to actually change the alarm while it is still tracking.

  • Alas...

Well, it’s a cool idea. If only it worked. I tried it for a solid week to give it a fair shot, but no. Two of the nights it said it couldn’t give me data, so I got nothing. A few other nights it showed me as awake for hours when I had totally crashed. So it keeps telling me about my growing sleep debt. Last night, I was so tired after getting home from a business trip that I didn’t even wake up once to pee (at my age, that’s a rare thing indeed). And yet it shows that I was awake from around 5 am until the alarm went off around 9. I was, in fact, dead to the world when that alarm went off.

I’m so disappointed because it seemed great the first night. I like the alarm, and I love the idea of it waking me up at a better point in my sleep patterns. But ever since that first night, it just wakes me up at exactly 2 minutes before the time I’ve set because it thinks I’ve been lying awake for hours.

One apparently accurate night out of seven doesn’t cut it.

  • What happened?

This app has always been amazing for me ever since I downloaded it what feels like forever ago, but since the update when they changed the image and made it promote the premium feature more - it keeps crashing. Constantly. Some nights it doesn’t open at all and I have to use other apps or the normal phone alarm, and sometimes it crashes when I wake up so all that recorded data goes *poof* and again I can’t open the app at all. I really really love this app because it wakes me up without giving me a heart attack from immediate loud music/sounds but it’s making itself so hard to love when I can barely use it anymore
