Customer disservice, waste of time
This is the most irresponsible, inconvenient and insurmountable failure of a customer service concept I have ever encountered! Happened to both my colleague and I. After you have uploaded all your documents and get all verified, you decide to book a car only to find out that your account is not approved. I you reach out to the customer service team, which by the way takes hours, and they ask for additional info and a security deposit, then you spend 10 hrs getting any response out of them with no luck. It wasted my whole weekend, and still no luck , the account is not set up.

Fraud alert
After 9 months stopping using their services. I received message about unpaid bills. They do not describe what the new bills cover, and indeed looks fabricated, once I shown them the receipts and mentioned legal action, they said they will drop the bill.

Cars are fine but customer service are an absolute joke
It’s a typical situation where when it’s fine it’s fine but the moment you need any kind of support they will take any and every opportunity to extort you for as much as possible.
I needed to fill the petrol up before the booking ended or else they charge you double or triple what it would normally cost to fill petrol in ‘admin fees.’ My booking was about to finish so I called to say I need 10 minutes to go to the petrol station and I’ll end the booking. The response was that it will charge me for another day. I said I don’t want another day I just want to fill the petrol and they said tough luck if you take longer than the booking time you’ll get charged for an entire day and no exception can be made not even for 10 minutes! There wasn’t even an attempt to help, just happily preparing to charge silly fees for anything possible.
In another situation I got to my car that I had just reserved and the battery was dead. I called and they said they will send someone. They made me wait an hour and the person arrived without keys. I told them I couldn’t get into the car because I had just booked and the car wouldn’t open and they sent someone without a key. Rather than apologising they said it was my fault for not booking another car instead of waiting. No accountability and no attempts to rectify their mistakes.

App and phone service are poor
The app works fine if you live in Dubai only. In Abu Dhabi, not many cars available and you can only rent per day, not per minute like before. The phone service is irritating as it keeps repeating the same phrase repeatedly. It makes you more annoyed while you are waiting. Shame as it used to be a good service, now it is not. Would not use Ekar again, and neither would any of my colleagues.

Good idea - Poor execution
The application user experience has a lot of room for improvement. You’re required to take 4 pictures of the car but unfortunately the app is poor so you have to take each picture multiple times. It’s practically a guarantee that you will get the msg “We’re sorry, it seems like something went wrong, please check back at a later time.”
Since there are no public reviews of the vehicles, you have no idea of the state of the car you are renting. When I had a recent issue with the air conditioning of the car, I called the customer service line to ask for a refund for the day that I did not use on the booking. They refused to even investigate the case and told me the booking is not refundable. Also there was no Manager available to speak with so I was stuck with two customer agents who provided nothing close to decent customer support. There are much better alternatives in the market

Taking additional subscriptions and not refunding
I would strongly advise not to use Ekar, even after cancelling my subscription 4 days before our term was due to end Ekar still took a months payment out with out any warning. Since contesting this they then took a further payment saying it was an early cancellation fee but still have not refunded the money 14 days on . Customer services are clueless giving different excuses and diversions to why the money has not been returned .

Bad experience
I got a car when I drove the tire pressure was showing low for all 4 tire and the sirens for that started, so I call the costumer care and was advised to find nearest station to check the, so I did but the sirens did not stop so I call again but this time I was informed to replace the car by other and I will be refunded the money for first car, but since I was out the region of the drop off car I had to deal the noisy sound of the sirens until I got to other car.
After I replaced the car I called to refund as promised by customer the first car cost, at least portion of first car cost as i waist my time stop by station to check to tire, and then time to find another car , and for dealing with this noisy sound while driving.
However, the request was denied and I got nothing

I tried to register with a non-UAE number, but I couldn't
