Good camera, crappy app

Everything new you have to learn, understandable. Camera is good but app is terrible. Dialing in options I thought was going to be easy with the remote option. I never get the change I made on the camera when I use remote settings. Random changes happen that I didn’t make. Makes it very difficult to keep going into the woods, climb a tree, and retrieve memory card to see what’s actually set.

Interval settings on camera are minimal and don’t align with app options.

Basically taking the whole season to figure this thing out.

Immensely disappointed

I drove three hours to set up a brand new LTE camera they have been tested for over a month at my house and worked great. I put brand new batteries in it it worked for 2 1/2 days sent me a lot of junk photos. The trigger went off for every little thing change the setting lower the sensitivity to the lowest point and sent it to the camera. It sent me 10 more photos and then decided to disconnect from the network now I have to drive six hours round-trip to reset a camera does the manufacturer said they probably just lost communication with the tower. They say it has no way to reset it to lose its power. This is an overpriced piece of crap

Older cam burned through batteries and froze up occasionally. Bought a newer one and it’s great one set of batteries lasted 4 months through winter. With the app can tell it to take a pic really nice when monitoring food plots. Also can change pic settings - have had a notification with a nice buck so I switched it to video very cool. Few minor bugs but nothing big. Can also request higher resolution pic to download to phone without needing to go to camera for like 6¢. Overall super happy. Wish the “camera map” worked would be nice where they are relative to each other

Overall really good

Most recent update seems to have fixed most all the “buggy” things I was experiencing. Haven’t been able to get videos to come through on the app. Not sure if that’s is even possible, but if so that would be an awesome feature. Even better would be to have the ability to watch a live video feed from my phone.

No video segment download as advertised

Bought this camera specifically for the cellular picture/video segment download capability advertised. Have been trying for months to get the video download to work properly as advertised with no success. All I get from Covert is that they will report it to the app developers. After supposedly fixing the problem, I reinstalled the app with the same results (no video download). After going through this cycle repeatedly with no fix and no further contact from Covert I have cancelled my cellular plan and am returning the camera to my supplier for a refund. If you only want still pictures sent to your phone, then you may be successful with this app. If you want the (short) video clips (as advertised), good luck. Mine never worked.

GPS is no good

I’ve had several Colvert cameras in the past. I’ve had great luck with all of them. However this is the first cell version I’ve bought. I had 7 Spartans and they are pretty decent. Had 2 stolen, so I bought the GPS version of this camera. The camera takes great pics and is very responsive to the commands on the app. The GPS is an absolute joke. Can’t get location closer than 3 miles where it is at. If this thing gets stolen, it would take a miracle to find it. That’s the only reason why I bought the expensive thing. They say it will get better, but in the meantime, better hope it doesn’t walk away like my Spartans did. I need several more, but think I’ll try the Spartan Ghost to see how it works. Don’t understand why a company would release a version without fully testing it first. If you want a GPS camera, stay away from this one for awhile.

Disaster! Poor Management decision

The old version worked just as old saying goes! “When it ant Broke Don’t fix it!!” What hair brain decide to mess with something that was working just fine? Well you guys will likely get your just deserves, just as I’m doing I’m sure many others will also. That is shopping to buy other more reliable brand of camera. Something cheaper in price only and that works as described! If I could give covert a negative score I would. I have well over $1000 in 2 cameras that don’t work half the time frustrating very frustrating!

Update is Terrible

They have fixed the app to where it is working correctly. I am now able to do all the things listed below that I couldn’t when the upgraded app first launched. Thanks Covert Wireless for getting this fixed. I am a big fan of your cameras. Next time please remember that your software is everything !! FIRST REVIEW: The latest software update is terrible. Covert Wireless should immediately take this version down & go back to the previous version. You have to delete photos one at a time, can not take a remote picture & the push notification stays on the icon ever after you review the latest pictures. You also have no time stamp on in the viewing frame. Zoom is not good either. To sum it up...The iPhone app in its current state is terrible & would keep me from ever purchasing another camera from Covert Wireless.

Updates

Since the last update and the recent bug fix the app continues to be buggy. The app notification shows I have 75 new photos and when you open the app there isn’t any new photos. The scrolling is slow and jittery. Not sure what the last version fixed bug wise but it still acts the same as the initial update. They should have stuck with the cameras just sending the pictures by text it worked great. Not sure why they changed what worked and still have yet to make a app that works.

Better

Still a couple bugs to work out with the new update(notifications won’t go away and sometimes the app won’t open) but some of the new features are really nice! Like one touch to save images. I think once the next couple bugs are worked out everything will be back to normal and even better than before. It has taken a long time for all the bugs to be worked out over the last 1 1/2 weeks and lots of people are frustrated including me. I’ll give 4 stars for now because coverts customer service has always been awesome to deal with for me. COME ON AND GET THIS THING RIGHT ONCE AND FOR ALL
