I must have her self-taped auditions

Slatable has been a game changer for my self-taped auditions! One of the standout features is how natural the voices sound, you can record your own voice, and the app transforms it into a completely different voice that feels real and engaging. It’s perfect for scenes where you need a reader, but you don’t have one available. The variety of voice options ensures that every addition feels authentic, and I can focus on my performance.

Another huge Plus is the excellent customer service. I had a few questions when I first started using the app and the support team was incredibly responsive and helpful that they quickly resolved my concerns and insured that I had a seamless experience.

For any actor needing a self tape without a reader available, Slatable is an invaluable tool. It saves time, provides amazing flexibility, and has become an essential part of self-tape auditions.

Fed up completely with this app

The concept of being able to record a scene partner to sync with your video is a great one. And it used to work. For the past few months, the audio is distorted terribly (loud/quiet, odd unexplainable noises, etc) making the tape unusable or at best, very unprofessional sounding. This problem should have been addressed months ago but instead, the most basic features that were free (saving more than 3 takes, exporting takes to your photos, etc) are now only available with a rather expensive subscription. In other words, rather than just adding new features for a price, they are actually taking away features that were free for years. I paid for a month subscription today because otherwise I could not send my tapes to my agent…held hostage in the app. Seriously bad form! The least Slatable could have done is add a pop up screen when the user attempts to use the app warning that will not have access to features they had previously relied upon. I will be requesting a refund for the payment and looking for a more reliable app to replace this one.

If you paid for SlatablePro you can restore purchases and get all the features back. If you were using the app for free the new version allows you to save one audition a month. We switched to a subscription based model so we can properly support development. It was not something we did lightly. We're always available at support@slatable.com if you have any questions!

Crashes All the Time

This used to be my go-to app for all my auditions during the pandemic. Ever since it moved to a subscription model, the app has been extremely slow, and it crashes all the time and usually after my best takes. Oh, and when it crashes, it fails to save the take. It’s especially frustrating when I’m facing a deadline!

Update broke it

Was decent now any attempts to record audio for a take sound fine until after filming when the pre-recorded audio becomes buggy and breaks and completely trashes any take. Used to work fine.

Hi. Sorry you’re having audio issues. The Scene Audio actually plays back from the device speaker as you’re doing a take, so theres no post audio stuff going on. Feel free to drop us an email at support@slatable.com so we can help you figure out what’s going on!

My account has been deleted!

I have been using this app for well over a year possibly 2 paid for the Pro version and have recommended to everyone! But since this update I cannot log in - saying I don’t exist or my account has been deleted! When I try to get a help ticket I get a message saying “ sorry you have been restricted from this page” please help!!! This is very worrying as all my tapes are on your app!!!

Hi Jaibeeee Sorry you’re having difficulties. With the new version we now have a sign in. So for the first time using the new app you need to sign up. As a SlatablePro user you’ll still retain all the features you had before the new update. And yes, our support site was down for a few days so apologies for the confusing message! Update Made App Unusable Without Premium

Slatable used to be a great app for filming auditions when you don’t have a reader, but since they updated it, you cannot use the app without having premium. It’s a complete money grab as if we don’t pay enough in this industry. You can’t even download your own videos that you’ve made without having premium and they don’t allow you to screen record. Absolutely disgraceful

Update breaks app

Bought the professional version but the update has now made it useless. I now have to pay a subscription to access any of the original features.

Hi. If you purchased SlatablePro you still have access to all those features. Please go to Settings in Slatable and Restore Purchases if it didn’t happen automatically. Drop us an email at support and we’d be happy to help if you’re having trouble restoring SlatablePro!

Would be great if it worked

Sadly so far this is promising but way to buggy. Takes forever to compile the takes. Freezes. And ultimately unreliable especially when needed for time sensitive work related projects.
Seems like there are very similar reviews dating back five years so not feeling overly hopeful for a fix :(

Meh

While I appreciate apps like this exist, no one wants title cards, so I don’t think they should be required on this app.
Also, you’re now putting your logo in the bottom corner of my audition? Really? Oy don’t like that at all. Won’t use this unless I have to.

If you'd like to remove the watermark and have more control of your self tape (remove title cards, add a slate, choose where to have your title cards if you want to include them) you can upgrade to SlatablePro. If you check out our website you can see all the features for SlatablePro there. Hope that helps!
